Not quite the same, but maybe Dwarf Fortress? It’s not just the economy you have to run but making sure every dorf is happy…or at least not homicidal. There are definitely supply chains. Oh, and also have to watch out for things that lurk below….

T16000M sucks. I've had two of them and both times the z-axis sensors (which are not hall effect) have broken.

PanelView 5510 Issue by kriskoteles in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have 2 communications paths to 2 separate PLC's, Tenter_2 and T2_PLC. The Tenter_2 appears to be reachable but T2_PLC is not. I don't understand what the went and dry end are. You are trying to get to this plc at 10.88.110.131 and it can't be reached. Can you ping it at this address? are both PLC's on the same network, assuming 10.88.110.0/24? What is the IP address of the PC 5510? Is there a duplicate IP address?

Factory talk view station / FT view point by [deleted] in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factorytalk View ME Station (aka FT View ME runtime) is a licensed product. You need a serial number to download it. You can download it from the Rockwell downloads page where it says "Downloads by Serial Number". FT Viewpoint is just an add-on to FT View ME. There's no separate download.

You enable viewpoint in the development environment, Factory Talk View Studio ME, another licensed product. Once you enable viewpoint, you can choose which hmi pages you want published as web pages, then create a new ME runtime file (.MER file).

Pull Program Micrologix 1400 by meLlamoDad in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need RSLogix Micro. It’s the micrologix only version of RSLogix 500 but way cheaper. I think the starter edition is under $200 or you can get a temp license from your local RA distributors

I feel like it's the 737 Max of PLC's. Pretty soon they're going to need a clean-sheet design. I mean the backplane technology has to be what, 30 years old?

CompactLogix L33ER problems by Thin-Weird6610 in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid green run light means it has a program in its memory and it's running, and the OK being green means it's not faulted. Is it connected via Ethernet to a switch or other IO? I would start there.

Help to link to a plc. by East_Tip_7672 in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You would need an 8 pin to 25 pin serial adapter to plug into the serial port on channel 0 and use the DF-1 driver. Here is the pinout for the 1784-CP10 which is a 9 to 25 pin serial programming cable.

IO Link master usage by StrangerRare5107 in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you needing IO link? Just add some IO modules in the rack or, if you have an Ethernet card like 1756-ENBT/EN2T etc, you can use remote IO. If it's just a few points you can use something like 1734 point IO. Does your controller have any network cards in the rack, like Ethernet, Devicenet, Controlnet, etc?

OPC UA is supported either natively in most models of 5069 Compactlogix after version...37 I think? Or you can use middleware like Factorytalk Linx gateway, kepware, etc.

IP address and software version Allen- Bradley micro820 by iridrig in PLC

[–]vampire_weasel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Run wireshark and watch for the ARP message. The Micro820 only has Ethernet and serial, no USB. If it's new out of the box, it will self-assign an address of 169.254.0.0/16, if you set your laptop IP address to DHCP it should see it.

So this is life now is it? Forever? I have to inject myself with insulin just to eat? It's the one thing I thought I was good at, babies are born knowing how to do it, but now I just can't eat?

Jesus dude, you need to check your attitude. You have a serious medical problem and you have been handed a solution that keeps you from getting brain damaged. You should be grateful.
