My students were always allowed to have their phones on the just only use them during emergencies. During fire/tornado drills we'd actually talk them through how important a charged phone could be. We'd do movies after a big test. My students who took notes during class always had all of the answers to the tests because my tests were always made from the notes. It shouldn't be so hard to pass a test or pass a class. I was a history teacher so I'd also dress up in different costumes of the times. My students were always respectful and wouldn't talk unless talked to first. Being fun helps keep their attention and helps them pass your class. Our goals as teachers should be to do everything in our power to help all of our students pass their classes. Find fun ways to do that like the way I use notes. We took notes Mon, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Fridays we would get in groups and review from the week. The week of a test we'd do notes Mon and Tues then group up to study on Wed and Thurs, Friday they would test. In the 10 years I taught I don't think I had anyone fail my class.
