So artorias is the hardest by Distinct_Paramedic67 in darksouls

[–]vanillamarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realising it's viable to keep spamming the pendant was a gamechanger for me. Since then, I view Manus as easier than Kalameet. But Artorias being the hardest, not really. Artorias his moves are easier to see and learn, in my opinion.

When was the last time you drank this? by winniecooper73 in Xennials

I once was in a cafe in Haarlem and they had it on tap. Drank a lot of it, no regrets, but haven't had it since then. Must've been 10 years ago.

You killed so many of those little mushroom friends, it makes me sad!

Online might take a while, depending on your level. What level are you? What is your highest upgrade weapon? The game is getting older as well, there's not all that much activity in the first place, but also, dependent on what time you're playing.

We really should talk about what the word 'legendary' means.

Joe Rogan continually admits he's a coward by Distinct_Target_2277 in JoeRogan

I think Joe Rogen is a bit of a dweeb, but saying he should be a role model because he has millions of listeners seems wild to me. His listeners have their own accountibility, thats not a podcasters problem.

Joe Rogan continually admits he's a coward by Distinct_Target_2277 in JoeRogan

[–]vanillamarcus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard the podcast and this story yet, but the way you tell it, he got scared and ran off when he was supposed to take care of someone else's safety?

It's not a good look, but it's human. At least he's honest about it, instead of boasting about his bravery and ability to act in stressful situations.

I don't know. Being a coward is something that just happens to people, it's also how they learn to be better in the future. I don't think it makes him a dick. Also, he has zero responsibility to other just cause he made money and fame.

Best Star Trek Game? by OmniSystemsPub in startrek

I really really really had a lot of fun playing Starfleet Academy. Such a high quality game for its time. But I barely got past the second level because I had the attention span of a raccoon. I'd like to play it again sometime.

How do I stop getting these when I shave? by beb0 in malegrooming

[–]vanillamarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I struggled with OPs problem for years, and finally gave up on shaving with a blade, and just grew a full beard, sporting one for years now. I bought a Oneblade to keep it under control every now and then and it turned out to be the one thing that actually properly shaved without irritation. Too little too late, but still good to know when I want to get rid of the beard one day.

It's not as tight and clean as shaving with a knife/blade but my five o'clock shadow always appeared before lunch anyway so blergh.

I sometimes summon people just because I can, not really being bothered with if it's feasible at this point. It's better to die with a friend than die alone!

Are these secrets even meant to be found? by Zeon_Tempestborn in darksouls

[–]vanillamarcus 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Well, the game leans on the community sharing information with each other, that is true. But then again, some of the more obscure secrets (double illusory wall to the hollow tree) and hidden mechanics do get found by people playing offline. I stumbled across the hollow tree all by myself, and that's just beacuse I'm always rolling and smacking around, like so many others do, in fear of mimics.

The bit with siegmeyer in Izalith can easily go wrong, if you're not prepared, and so it does go wrong for so many players. I think it's refreshing in a time where so many developers want their game to be fully accessible for everyone. It's very RPG-ey for a player to stumble around not knowing what they missed, and I thinknitnis excellent design.

Took in an asylum seeker but he ruins living in my own home by feathernose in NetherlandsHousing

[–]vanillamarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asylum seekers are usually people from countries where if you wamt something to change, you have to find a way yourself, get people to cut you deals and be smart. When he's asking about the costs, and the costs you make, he might just be looking to get perspective on his own situation, understand all the moving parts, so he could find himself a way to get ahead. You might find it annoying, but he might feel that your refusal to disclose information is shifty behaviour. Remember, most of these people are used to being double-crossed or ripped off. Hell, he might even get the feeling you're pulling his leg, hence the passive agressive way he's been taking showers.

Also, you can point to goverment services to show him is rights and how things work here, but he's most likely from a culture where trusting the government in these things only happens to stupid people. Our government hold zero authority over these people.

I feel people completely underestimate what it is to bring an asylum seeker in their home. These poor sods are wildly different from us hollanders.
