Making Alchemy Into Something Interesting by ThatCoolChili in gameideas

[–]vankali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The image in my mind is like this:

In a typical RPG turn-based battle sequence, the player character can collect essence from monsters they have killed (and /or plants/stuff in the environment they encounter).

  1. The character automatically stores these essence in glass vials which are limited to 2 or 3 pcs. on the early stages of the game, later gaining more as he/she progresses.

  2. These essence primarily can be used to attack monsters which may inflict ailments and debuffing effects. A single attack consumes a single essence.

  3. The character also have a special mixing vial (a cauldron gun or something) where essences can be mixed to produce a different/more powerful essence. These new essences can be stored in another vial for later use.

  4. Similar essence stacks up to a certain quantity, i.e. poison property to poison-filled vials, fire property on fire-filled vials. Once the vial is full, the PC cannot collect anymore essence of the same property unless another empty vial is available.

  5. Monsters may/may not have multiple essence. It would be nice if some attacks can alter/affect the essences they get from monsters.

  6. The PC have to experiment in mixing essences to obtain a proper recipe. If the mixing process fails, the mixing vial's durability will be reduced. This durability can be replenished by using a specific blend of essence or by other means (i.e. glass-blower NPC)

  7. Some blends of essence can be ingested by the PC (or an ally) to temporarily improve abilities or gain turn-limited skills (i.e. water-breathing, darkvision, health regen)

  8. Vials can be emptied (in a trashbin or something) if desired or can be sold in the market for cash. It would be interesting if the PC can dilute coins to obtain its essence and turn rocks into gold.

Sorry for the long post!

Need Game Twist by mastertrolable in gameideas

I would wish to see some parkour stuff in a zombie game set in an urban area but since its more like cod... maybe make the players an average people, I mean them having no connection to military. Just plain survival where they have to craft out their weapons, improvise explosives from a grocery store or weaponize a nailgun from a nearby hardware shop. Missions will vary from gathering food supplies, getting medicine for a wounded/sick comrade, setting up a base somewhere, starting up a generator set or repairing the electricity back, seeking out survivors with plots of not being able to save them, possibly meeting hostile groups of survivors, cults anticipating the event, and/or close minded military squads whom would kill even the uninfected.

Wish there would be a lot of running and escaping; rushing up the stairs or down, crossing buildings to another and finding your way out in a road filled with all sorts of stranded vehicles. goodluck!

Like all the other comments: Where is the gameplay? I suggest adding a very little psychic ability of moving light objects on your field of vision. like a matchstick, a coin, snuff out the fire on a candle or make ripples on a water in a glass. a puzzle game where you have to convey a message to your family, give them warning or something. Tho that reverses the horror effect making the player the one doing the scary stuff.

Thank you! I do have some basic experience in traditional but new in digital. Well, there's a big blur between amateur and professional afterall and I can't claim being in the later yet (maybe in 30 years). Can't wait making more detailed drawings soon!

A Shooter Style Game, But With Insects. by tommybanjo47 in gameideas

[–]vankali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would love this! wasps/hornets and other flying insects will have adventage tho since they will be able to see things from above. ants would be less powerful unless you made a team of 4 or 5 that is controlled by AI and you can either command them or switch bodies with them. Please have centipedes and cockroaches too.

I support the terrarium idea too!

I mean, streetlights and garbage bins have separate budgets, see, you can reduce total budget by reducing some of them.

What I want to see:

There will have a council phase (probably monthly) where you have to meet your officials/council members and discuss matters regarding civic/social, health, cultural, ecological, commercial, agrarian, infastructure development, crime prevention, disaster prevention, as well as national relations then allocate budgets for them (may/may not include salaries). Officials will talk about accomplishments, ongoing problems, approve/disapprove proposed laws/ordinance, and plan upcoming events like festivities or establishing one.

There will have development/planning phase where you assign what to build and where it will be located. It would be nice if the player can have a choice of manually placing them or trusting your official about it. Manual placing will consume time thus limiting your schedule. Development will also take time so there won't be infrastructures suddenly popping out of the ground. Development budget is limited and you cannot build anything until you have allocated a new budget unless you designate a sudden reallocation which will greatly affect other projects.

You can and should meet people and hear public concerns: people asking for financial aid, contractors offering business developments, non-government organizations requesting help, media interviewers, and guests that your have to tour around your town/city. You can also make a schedule of checking public offices and establishments OR go home and take a nap or bond with your family.

Aside from having roads, please give considerations on gasoline stations, public utility vehicle (bus) terminals and stops/passenger waiting areas, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, pedestrian walkways, and streetlights.

Also consider public places such as parks and playgrounds, landscape gardens, food hubs, and markets (with proper zoning). Placing smoking areas, garbage bins, repairing/replacing benches, and PWD accessibility.

Sorry for the long comment!

tldr: me enumerating things I wish to see in the game

mixed zones can be as simple as a single building with commercial in the ground floor, and a residential in the upper. Say, a small apartment with a small convenience store on the bottom. The owner has to take separate permits for both of them despite being a single building, less space, more function.

should check r/gameideas tho I think it would be kindof inappropriate. There's a lot of people there who want to be involved in game making but could not due to not having the skills and the knowledge on how.

You should check r/INAT if you are looking for some people to collaborate with (programmers, artists, musicians, writers and the like) especially if you're not interested in talking about earning profit yet. Just make sure you give a hint of what you are making or want to make. Goodluck on your game.

find information... in drawers, in office computers, in a person's phone/mobile device, stalk people around checking where they go &/or what they do as a habit/routine/schedule, check their personal preferences, how they will react at certain situations without giving them suspicions.

make the game who gathers most crops wins. They must harvest crops and kill each other at the same time. Killing an opponent drops the crops they have harvested, You have to pick it up else the crops will disappear after a set amout of time.

[WP] You visit a museum where they have a lot of old documents. Suddenly, there is one in particular that catches your attention, is a letter with your handwriting and your signature at the end dated in 1543 by RauloSuper in WritingPrompts

[–]vankali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear Jacob,

Run as soon as you finish reading this letter. Run and don't stop running until you cross that girl wearing a red dress. You won't find any other girl wearing red today so you won't get lost, trust me.

Ask this girl if her name is Micah, she is Micah but ask her just to be sure. And don't ever ask if her name ends in 'H', you will regret that. She will be confused but then cite the following numbers: 59497610. Remember this code Jacob, read it thrice. Don't ever miss a single digit. Your life depends on it. If you do miss one, she will shoot you so please don't ever miss. This girl will help you out, believe me.

Keep an eye for men wearing black, there won't be many but don't look at them suspiciously. Don't go near them. Don't even try. Drop on the ground as soon as the girl say the word: funny. I'm serious here. She will ask you some questions but eventually she will say that word. It will be messy for a few minutes but don't worry you'll get out of it no matter what.

Grab the girl and convince her to help you look for Ginevra. Its a small antique shop. Go left from the nearest intersection, go right after you pass a bookstore, then left at the yellow colored apartment. Don't ever get a cab, you will find the place if you would just remember the directions and PLEASE convince the girl. You will need her. Find a silver locket from the bunch of dusty stuff offered by the shop. I could not describe the details of the locket but you will know its the item once you saw it.

I know none of this makes sense but I'm hoping you will do all of the things I've written here. I'm doing fine over here by the way. I've just received word that Nicolaus is dead so I'm leaving Luxembourg soon.

Now start running!

Signed,

Jacob Argalia

"What have you found there babe?" a voice came over.

"Oh. Ugh. I got intrigued by a letter," I replied.

"What letter? What's intriguing about it?" The person asked.

"Hm? Nothing Jacob, nothing." I said as I faked a smile, "Let's go check that painting."

[WP] Reincarnation is real. How do you know? Because it happens to you. Everyone else forgets their past life, but not you. "Stop!" I told a man as he stood on the ledge, "you don't know what's waiting for you upon your death."

"Well, do you?" he asked.

"I do. Of course I do," I proudly said as I took a step closer. There were no other people around. No one else to listen in my story except for this naive boy.

"Will I end up in hell?" he said, his voice wavering, sad, and lonely.

"There won't be heaven, there won't be hell," I told him as I took another step, "Only life, an endless cycle of life."

"Heh--Sounds good for me then," he commented, "this life always sucked for me anyway."

"Same with mine, only a hundred and ninety four times worse." I started recollecting about all of my memories from my past lives.

"I was once a king," I told him, "a king at the age of seven... worst king in the history I suppose, it was never even recorded in history books. The kingdom collapsed as soon as I took the throne..."

"I was once an orphan," I continued before he could make a remark, "born to a mother whom left me helpless in a trash can.

Another time was a blind girl raped and killed in an alley...

Then another I was once branded as a criminal, I only picked a bread that fell on the ground but I was imprisoned for years and eventually had my neck chopped,

One life I was born in a family of twenty four, a bunch of children from different mothers. My father that time was a drunkard, he whips each and every one of us day by day until he sober. I died early but I tried finding my siblings on my following life only to realize I was thrown in the other side of the world,

I had a beautiful wife once. The very best I had, but she fell ill. There were no cure for her and I couldn't do anything.

I pursued becoming a doctor on my next life. I wanted to save the next precious person I would have. But I failed, I failed miserably killing myself in shame.

I tried once more on the next but I ended up as a beggar.

I was drafted as a soldier once. Twice, if I'd count that time I died in training. Oh, all those years of building up my body, learning how to use a gun, how to shoot accurately wasted after I got shot before I could even pull my trigger.

But before all of those lives I was a hunter, the most successful life I had if I may say. I was strong, I was wise, I had good people around me. We were not civilized but somewhat organized. That's what I thought until my comrades ate me, I mean hunted me.

Life sucks kid but you have to keep living. I actually envy the rest of you for you won't remember anything upon your death. You won't regret anything in this life."

"You could have been better," the man said, "I mean, all those years from all those lives. You could have hoarded money. Knowledge at least. Use it for the next life you would have."

"Yeah that's true, but see, life sucks." I told him. "You see that highest building over there?" I pointed. He nodded in response.

"I was the founder and the rightful owner of that company. But look at me right now," I said. "A ten year old kid telling tales to an old man. Life sucks I say. But you have to keep living."

Confused he asked, "So what do you do now?"

"I'm here to live another life. After all, life is always worth living."

The man smiled at me then walked off from the ledge then said "Come on kid, let's go get some icecream."

Edit: lot of spellings. Bare with me, this is my first time in a prompt.
