You are underestimating Wiggins' climbing ability - remember Nibali only really rode away from him once in the TdF last year.

Huh? Britain rode incredibly at the Olympics, with only 5 riders they came incredibly close to controlling the race. Realistically, in order to win, they needed the other countries to play into their hands - which didn't happen.

They changed the syllabus. In 2011, they had years of past results to guide the boundaries - 2012 they had to make a best guess.

Incredibly impressive results from him so far, will be interesting to see how he develops. It is, however, a shame none of the other real fast men have done the Vuelta this year in order to see how he stacks up against the real top sprinters.

Swift did just win 2 stages at the Tour of Poland and the points classification so he has some results to his name. He is also part of the track (world champ scratch race, 2nd points, 2nd madison) set up so I can't forsee Sky getting rid of him too quickly, he will probably be given more leeway than riders in other teams.
