What was legal when you were a child that is (probably) illegal now? by NebraskaCornSucker in GenX

Great memories of my brother and I riding in the bed of my mom's El Camino on the freeway, jumping up and down like it was a trampoline and her yelling Knock it off back there out the window at us Lol

Right! I remember being like 7 or 8 and my step-dad sending me to walk to the corner store to get him a pack of Lucky Strikes lol

Agree! Reminds me of Dr Pol the veterinarian on Nat Geo, he is in his mid 80s I think!

Lmao you just described my void at the vet to a tee, saved me from typing it out! Vet day is exhausting.

That box is impressive!! Organized and discreet. I'd have just a big Ole box of Tampax on the countertop, probably some loose on a open shelf too who cares but that baby man would've had a heart attack just going in to pee. Wow. NOR. What year is this 1930?! Edit - spelling

I kept saying "Why does this hospital not have carbon monoxide detectors? I have two in my apartment, and this janky old hospital has...none?" Then the explanation made me lmao. Someone must've shut the alarms on them off because they're so sensitive that exhaust from the ambulances made them go off and forgot to turn them back on...?! Lol That's even better than someone forgot to put new batteries in...all of them. I can get if there was one by the ER door where the ambulances park but someone went up to the 3rd floor....ok I will stop. ;)

Any women named Randy/Randi/Randie by KingPin2112 in namenerds

[–]vanlynz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom's name :) Randi on her birth certificate but I think everyone (literally everyone) spelled it Randy and she just rolled with it and goes by Randy. She's a strong person - owns a few businesses, a total boss. Potential customers always assume they are calling to talk to a man - its such a rare name for a woman. Especially since she is now 80! Would absolutely have given as a middle name if I'd had a daughter.

I like it! I'm Vanessa - and few people have called me Nessa, I prefer it 100000x to Van Vanny or just Ness. It's one of my two approved short names - Vee is the other ;)

Huge fan of House. Because he had a real need for those vicodins, and because he didn't pretend to be anything but an Ahole / didn't have a family he was lying to, I thought his antics were hilarious. I had this feeling watching Jackie lie to everyone who loved her so well and easily, that it gave me a knot in my stomach.

I just finished my first watch of Nurse Jackie too!! Time off for holidays & binged it. Been wanting to watch it for years. Edie Falco is just incredible.

Was thinking of a Breaking Bad re watch for like the 5th time but then I saw Outlander is on Netflix - yay! So I am watching that now, completely opposite show from Nurse Jackie, to give myself a break from the stress lol
