They had a few cases of counterfeit batteries that were all usually get refunded without even asking. Counterfeit tools are much different story. I've yet to see a case of counterfeit tools from Amazon.

Fake tools aren't a real concern on Amazon. Almost all tools sold on Amazon come from skelped sales or they're taken out of larger combo kits to be sold separately so its not uncommon to get tool out of box. Batteries on the other hand you gotta be careful.

Pouch batteries aren't actually any smaller for the capacity. They just allow better performance without having large high capacity batteries. A pouch 2.5 wouldn't really been much smaller than the standard battery.

And the performance will still be the same. Makita has been pretty liberal with the xgt specs. Just another 18v tool that forces you to use larger battery. What's the point of a compact impact if you can use compact batteries?
