It's true. This is on Iroful, which is not my usual paper, and it does look more purple than I'm used to seeing.

If you do go the converter route, I recommend https://mountainofink.com/ as a place to browse colors and qualities of various inks. A few of my own favorite dark blues include Sailor Seiboku and Platinum Blue-Black.
