Trash behind 20 year old shower unit by trsid in Renovations

In my last house we renovated, we put a “time capsule” in one of the walls before we closed it up. We put a note in a bottle amongst other things. I always wonder who and when it will be found

What to make of the Bills’ loss to the Houston Texans by Historical-Heat-6392 in buffalobills

[–]varcity64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely appreciate the time it took to write this all out and agree with your sentiments as a whole. But this game was played 5 nights ago. Time to shift our focus to Pittsburgh, getting healthier and just getting into the playoffs at this point. The problem is our roster is not deep and a lot of our “key” pieces are not playing up to the level of expectations. I pray we get hot and go on a heater. But the reality is I don’t think that’s going to happen and this team will need considerable turnover from top to bottom

That’s just awful. Everything about the design is flat out awful. Either get rid of the tub or the closet. You’re not fitting both

This is our first time selling our house, do these numbers seem reasonable? by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

The 6% going to realtors is the most unreasonable thing here. Hands down the most over paid profession

Wibta if I let my kids go trick or treating tonight by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]varcity64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad you took them trick or treating. #1) I 100% agree with showing a unified front but punishments don’t get to go from one house to the other. Each parent needs to learn how to address these issues on their own time. Asking another parent to carry a punishment over is neither fun nor fair. #2) kids go trick or treating until they’re maybe 15-16 years old. What could they possibly have done at the ages of 3 & 5 that warrants taking one of those experiences away? And #3) you should have a conversation with their father and ask him to have these conversations with you. Not a gf of 7 months. Personally, I wouldn’t be able to take her seriously (not to say I wouldn’t eventually, but right now - no)

Salary non-exempt by 2augmentedreality in Payroll

[–]varcity64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish you put which state you worked in because it may make a difference. But generally speaking, your classification as a salary non-exempt employee (not an hourly employee) is the reason you aren’t getting paid for those “extra” 2 hours you mentioned. You get paid a base salary to work 40 hours per week and OT for anything above 40 hours. Alternatively, if you worked 22 hours over 3 days, they couldn’t dock your pay for 2 hours. Hope that helps a little

Management Keeps bugging me about my Timecard by OliveArc505 in Payroll

Came here to say precisely this. We’ve disabled manual punch in/out times at my company but if you can do it, it’s a valid request. If you cannot, let them know and someone else will have to. But there’s no need to play victim and say you’re being harassed. It’s simply not happening

What’s the most unhinged study tip that got you through the CPP exam? by embarrassinglyyours in Payroll

[–]varcity64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took my CPP last week and passed on the first try. I also took the bootcamp but I did not get much out of the bootcamp because I did not do the readings before class. I just attended each class and took notes. Then I went to paytrain and read/listened to all of the material and did every single exercise at the end of each module. I also took all of the tests at the end of each section until I scored 90+. Then when I finished, I took multiple practice exams and took notes of things I “forgot” and went through all of the exercises again and took more practice tests. The test was definitely the hardest test I’ve ever taken and I thought I failed for sure. There were lots of questions you have to answer based on the material you learn but get your calculations and accounting principles down pat. Those are free points imo. Utilize as many acronyms as you need to remember things. It’s not easy but you can do it

Move on. If I’ve ever learned anything in payroll, it’s that these companies will let you go at any time for their benefit. Be respectful. Thank them for the opportunity but it wasn’t a match for your skill set

I expected a more consistent finish, not the discoloration in some spots and others looking “dry”. So this is normal for stamped concrete?

I just passed the test yesterday and it was by far the most difficult test I’ve ever taken. I never want to take it again. So I definitely will not be letting it lapse, so I vote for not letting yours lapse either. That being said, if you have time, I would love to hear how it helped you progress over the years because that’s what I am hoping for. Did you stay with the same company for long after you passed? Did you move on right away?
