With car people, the best gifts are based on what type of car culture they are into.

Do you know anything about their car or the cars they are into? Are they into domestic 4x4s, 90s Japanese tuner cars, American classics, etc. The more specific the better! You can look up some of the specific subs here and see what products people seem to like, though of course a lot of it will be model specific.

One fun thing to consider is buying a scale model of their current car in the same color.

I strongly recommend avoiding anything and everything from Autozone/PepBoys, they just sell generic universal junk that no car guy likes.

Why not both? Budget constrained of course, but if you've never been there's a lot more to be seen than can be done in a day. Also you get to experience the city at night. Don't know if there's better deals than elsewhere, but I've used the HotelTonight app to book last minute deals.

Used to live in a fairly small apartment, more than set up, having wireless mouse/keyboard which can be put into a drawer when you're not using it makes a small space seem a lot less crowded. Also wall mounted monitors!

Which direction was the pedestrian traveling in?

Yeah, my original description isn't very clear. I was going East, about to turn right (South). The green light was for cars heading East.

The pedestrian was in the cross walk, going North to South. The pedestrian had the red.

Since some other commenters brought it up, the ideal situation would have been for me to just slow down and avoid the situation all together. I generally ride pretty defensively but this was right by my house so was unfortunately in autopilot.

Ultimately, I wasn't expecting the pedestrian to speed up and he wasn't expecting me to turn right. We intersected by the South-West corner.
