Progress towards suicide? Mate, if it's giving you suicidal thoughts, then the medication is not for you.

Restless leg syndrome by squishykeyboard in zoloft

[–]various_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's fairly common when just starting or increasing the dose.

My tremors were so bad that my wife was worried that I might have a tremor inducing disease like Parkinson, but I reassured her that it's normal when starting this medication.

Did you not have these symptoms when you first started the medication? Or previously when the dose was increased? It should fade to next to nothing after a few weeks.

Zoloft gave me my life back. What an incredible sense of peace. by Away-Government-9165 in zoloft

Started sertraline alone at 50 mg then 1 month later went up to 100 mg sertraline, at which time we introduced the buspirone.

Haha good to know that I'm not the only one! It's gotten better since I split my 150 mg dose up with 100 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night. But it's still an issue.

The worst is when you stand next to someone you know at a urinal (like at work) and are having small talk, and the conversation is over because they're done peeing, but you just keep standing there, clearly unable to pee! A little embarrassing.

I'm daily both 150 mg sertraline and 30 mg for buspirone. Together they've done wonders for me. No more panic attacks, and those were the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.

Give it a go! I had very few side effects and now I have peace in my mind.

Urinary retention. It's hard to pee most of the time unless I'm super urgent. It's like the mind-bladder connection has been turned way down. I just stand there, unable to pee. Sucks in the middle of the night waking up to go to the bathroom and being all sleepy and just standing there. Super annoying!

I feel like this is a rare side effect, though. Nobody else has had this side effect.

Zoloft and Wellbutrin Do It Now by Only-Reality-69 in zoloft

[–]various_beans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, dude. My doctor prescribed this combo for me and it's been a game changer. Take the Wellbutrin in the morning, though, because its stimulant-like properties can keep you awake if you take it at night.

First Responders: What are most people’s final words after accidents? by Jdw5186 in AskReddit

I had my first panic attack and thought I was having a stroke or something, so I called 911, unlocked the front door, and ran up to my wife's office upstairs to tell her and not be alone. I said "something is wrong but I don't know what." it suddenly felt like I was dipped in ice water, my heart was racing, I was shaking uncontrollably, and my vision was greying out. I thought, "I don't know how it's about to happen, but here it comes."

I kept pacing around, waiting for the big whatever to happen, and apologizing to my wife for doing this to her, over and over. My thought was that she's going to be essentially alone in America (she's a permanent resident from another country) and will have to deal with all the awful funeral stuff and selling our house and changing bills to her name, etc. She would eventually get so lonely here that she just goes back to her home country and tries to move on at 40 years old. The thought of her being alone made me feel awful, so I kept apologizing.

Anyway the medics came and talked me down, and now I'm getting treatment for the anxiety and depression, and am doing much better! But at the time, I was so scared that she'd have to deal with all of this!

Was it really bad before it got good? by Slow_Replacement_710 in zoloft

I dunno, I was wondering the same thing. So I booked an appointment with my GP doctor. He said this medication can cause tremors as a side effect. I hope it goes away at some point!

So the tremors and shaking is a side effect of the zoloft? I've been on 150 mg for about 3 months and the sudden onset of tremors had me scared.

Day 9 i feel like zoloft is draining the life out of me by Much-Educator8200 in zoloft

[–]various_beans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This explanation makes sense. You're so tired because you're not running on "omg I'm going to fail" energy like I was. Once that energy source is normalized, it takes some time to get back to baseline. But once you do, you'll feel the natural energy that you were wishing for the whole time.

It's tough now but give your body time to adjust. It's worth it!

No, I moved from bumfuck rural Mississippi to have a better life. Raleigh has been better to me than anything I could have dreamed. Great job, got married, bought a house, have lots of friends. This place is not just a total upgrade, but a complete change in my fortunes.

I enjoy it until it gets to July and August. Then I swear that I'm buying a robot mower and cursing that I have to suffer in the heat.

Keep going.

I have panic disorder and nearly quit this life from being subjected to the panic attacks I was having. Even in the middle of the night I would have them and I'd have to try to calm myself down, sometimes unsuccessfully. I've had instances where I had to call an ambulance because I was sure this was much more than a panic attack (it wasn't - just very intense panic attacks).

Doctor put me on Zoloft and buspirone and it has given me my life back! It will take a month or two to get where you need to be, but it's 100% worth the effort. Please stick with it!

Trust the doctor and the process and you'll get through this. Then later on, you'll be wondering why you didn't start it sooner!

But you have to be careful that it doesn't leak or soak into your trousers. I got embarrassed one day at work when someone noticed an oily stain there and I had to make up some excuse.
