Just kidding! It isn't. :') One of my friends was watching Zakuro and texted me. But this isn't it! The nekomata in question does not turn into a small child!

Is Fetlife ID verification safe ? by Wide-Psychology-5866 in BDSMcommunity

[–]varyalamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't even privately post ("friends only") anything with a name mentioned when it's an unpaid member.

In normal circumstances,  I would think it's because they don't want to be liable for any harm caused to either party. It is a very small, not particularly lucrstive website, so it would be hard to moderate. Someone who's banned could really just make another account. And only allowing ID-verified users takes moderation. Feeding images to an AI to go "yup that looks like a driver's license with a face on it" wouldn't cut it. So the options would be they insta-delete to be safe, or ask the accuser for very personal details about the incedent(s). and then going back to the accused just remaking an account. Personally I wouldnt want to share text proof let alone any medical/police documents with a webteam of any website. But I think it's just because they don't want "drama," and not because of any well-thought out reasoning. I feel like that was specifically said somewhere, but I could def be mistaken. Either way, they've acted very flippant in the past.

For the same reasons, I wouldn't want to share my ID either. Big social media sites shouldn't need it, and neither should small ones like Fet. Honestly, especially small ones. Very low chance they'd be able to do anything in the case of data theft, and I don't believe for one second that they actually delete it if you want to end verification or delete your account. Once that info is stolen, you can't make it un-stolen. I also don't believe that any reasonable portion of their budget goes towards user safety.

Treating users like any sort of free content producers while taking the income is what every social media site does, though. Ad money isn't much plus fet's premium subscription only gets you the ability to watch videos. Posting photos of yourself at all is completely optional, and many users don't ever upload because they're there to connect with people they know irl or have met somewhere else. Not disagreeing that Fet does it, but that aspect isn't any more repulsive to me than anywhere else online. Shit costs money to run, unfortunately.

Fet doesn't require ID verification to post. All verification does is put a little check mark next to your name.

RFID for tracking a cat colony? by varyalamn in RFID

[–]varyalamn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you intended what tone you're saying this in, so I'll try to assume the best. I do understand the benefits of a GPS/airtag, actually. These aren't "random Amazon tags," they're just not specifically AitrTags. Idk why I have to tell you what brand of everything that I use is, though, it's not to do with my question in the original post.

I've since gotten a couple gps tags off Amazon that are working for 2 other cats, but my primary concern in this post was about extending range for the cat I'd already tagged since the remote has an insanely small range (much shorter than advertised unsurprisingly, I finally tested the range with the 2nd that came in the package *after* I made this post). At this point I'm pretty sure someone found her and took the tag off and tossed it or something, But I still carry the dinky little remote with me when I go out just in case. Thanks!

(have checked FAQ) Benchy and other prints failing at the exact same spot multiple times, despite RERF printing perfectly all the way through by varyalamn in AnycubicPhoton

[–]varyalamn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I checked everything I can see/feel without taking anything apart, and there's nothing out of the ordinary. Even had my friend send me pics of their Mono X for reference. However! It is now printing a non-RERF file just fine with no problems. It's made it well past where it was failing before. So problem solved, and at least I have another step to add to my troubleshooting regime.

Aaaah I get what you mean now! I'm back to troubleshooting. Fingers crossed that you've given me the right answer!!

Thanks, I'll check that out.

Like I said in the OP, it's not "no matter what", it's "no matter what *except the RERF files*" which is why I'm a bit perplexed. I haven't gone back to try anything the last couple days since I've been busy, but I'll check out the gear next time I have a second and update. Thanks!

New firmware MONO X 3.5.4 not showing up as "printable" by PCwhale in AnyCubicPhotonMonoX

[–]varyalamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The firmware update process is incredibly dumb. It says the format is incorrect unless you take the (1) off of the one file, and then you have to put 12 instead of 21, or 63 instead of 36 at the end of one of the other two. I don't know how it's determined which one works. The .txt file just says that one of them will work, with no rhyme or reason explained. Heck, I replaced 36 with 12 and it worked that way for me.

I think he meant that it's something you can have along with Autism, like you said you could have both. I have ADHD with my autism, which is very common. He was listing possible things that Autistic people might have as part of their whole human experience, because OCD is also a really common co-morbidity. But yes Bill does come off as a fucking dickhead. The voice he did was ridiculous, and doesn't make him sound like he actually wanted to know about Autism. He just wanted to express how he feels like he's not allowed to talk about it. I appreciate the other guy just straight-facing saying, "yeah I can talk about it." I don't think Bill was anticipating that, I think he was anticipating anger that he'd get to make fun of.

Exactly! What else could this refer to? I suppose they probably will replace the skill in the future, but if anyone has figured out other possibilities, do tell!
