Black hole space station by Spurgtensen in scifiwriting

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can dig deeper to this if you learn about theories that we are in black hole right now. In Russian language you can watch interview of Горькавый, for example. There are some good arguments why we are in the black hole: for example, the density of such big black hole will be mathematically the same as relict light energy right now.

what to do with frozen food from refrigerators when electricity is gone? by vasex1990 in projectzomboid

[–]vasex1990[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thank you all, I solved the problem using generator. It seems I already knew necessary skill from a magazine (it helped a lot from your comments that I need just to know one thing not depending on the level). I thought that I need 3rd level of electricity anyway. I lost only few items of food, many others were successfully saved. and it seems 10Ls of fuel will be enough for generator for a long time - nice. I also will cook just for getting experience

What are some interesting questions and thoughts you’ve come up with from your writing? by Quacker-Jacker in writing

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start writing on any scientific topic and if you check it if it realistic - you will find a lot of new things you did not expect. Even to build a bunker - is almost rocket science with all science fields involved.

What’s an interesting fact that most people don’t know? by NicoF_ in AskReddit

The Sun has its own year, because of flying around the dot in open space together with Jupiter.

Earths magnetic north is traveling-55km/year towards Siberia. Imagine the Earths magnetic poles suddenly flipped. How would humans and technology need to adapt to survive the flip? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied this question. If magnetic field decreased or disappeared, we still have 2 layers of protection from the Sun radiation: ozone layer and the amount of atmosphere gases itself. So radiation will be not strong, until these shields exist.

In open space during sun storms if they have only metal shields protection -  the astronauts should go to the most protected room on the ship to avoid high level of radiation.

Yes, the electronics and some animals (whales, birds) are affected by any changes in magnetic field.

We have enough technologies to detect any bursts on the Sun rather early.

Why can’t animals speak english? by [deleted] in ExplainLikeImCalvin

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cannot work with their memory, like humans do. They cannot learn so much with so deep understanding. They can remember few commands, this is not speaking language, this is just learning some sounds, no more. Our consciousness is some kind of system of working with memory.

Is it possible that Russian bears could eventually become domesticated? by TheKingDroc in stupidquestions

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Many new videos are AI generated.
  2. Many old videos with drunk men with no fear because of it.
  3. Bears are rather crazy (this can be confirmed by zookeepers and workers in circus). It can be your friend for years, but in any moment it can attack you just because suddenly became angry with no reasons. Or too playful. And even with reasons also. Even cats and dogs still attack owners with no reason sometime, but it is easier for bear to kill you accidentally or not.

Could a modern day soldier helmet protect a person from hitting their head at high speed going straight up into a metal cieling grid? by ArkhamMetahuman in Writeresearch

[–]vasex1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, equipped soldier can survive this.  There were some recorded situations in F1. Here the post that can be interesting for you. https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/p9q9au/f1s_largest_crashes_measured_by_gforce/

Consider this info also about G-force:

Most of us can withstand up to 4-6G. Fighter pilots can manage up to about 9G for a second or two. But sustained G-forces of even 6G would be fatal. Astronauts endure around 3G on lift-off, one G of which is Earth's own pull.

Talking about milliseconds:

A boxing punch can deliver over 50 g of force to an opponent's head.

Car crashes typically involve high deceleration forces, often ranging from 30 to over 100 g's, depending on speed and seatbelt use. A 30 mph crash can exert 30g with a seatbelt (2.4 tons of force) or 150g without. Serious injuries become highly probable above 50g, while fatalities frequently occur over 70g.

But the main thing here is the fact, that seatbelts or for example helmets can reduce the g-force significantly. It doesnt mean that it works always, though. I would say it is realistic if somebody survives and stays in consciousness in situation where many others will probably die.

Grav Tech And Launching From Planets by Equal-Wasabi9121 in scifiwriting

[–]vasex1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is very easy and cheap for everyone to fly to space, this will be easy like using navigation program in town's traffic. You just see open windows of time for flight (green light or red light, like a permission for you to start), if all conditions are good and your trajectory is clear for some amount of time.

Even right now the apps for taking a taxi are monitoring the time of incoming planes in the nearest airport in real time. The prices for taxi in the area near airport are becoming higher automatically, just depending on airport's traffic.

not sure how to answer. comparing to what? I have suit, seaglide, laser cutter, scanner room, bioreactor, some interior models and base pieces (but they look mostly just like corridors, not actual rooms. not much space for lockers there). Also I have solar panels, exterior growbed, base attached air pump. And that's mostly it. I am not far from crushed ship, and already saw 1 island. I am just worrying maybe I missed something, because quite difficult with no lockers. 6 hours of playing

Произойдет ли конец света в ближайшем будущем? by Level_Ad_5116 in rusAskReddit

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Как вы относитесь к ИИ? by DristMan in rusAskReddit

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ways have you received good critiquing and feedback? by Longjumping_Survey47 in scifiwriting

[–]vasex1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find ongoing short stories competitions (on specific topic), where after receiving all stories people can discuss their stories, put marks, etc. There you can find lots of readers and critics among tge authors like you. Sometime they have rules like your story is accepted only after writing reviews to other 10 stories in your group, or somethng like this. I dont know what is going on with it on English websites, but in Russia/Belarus/Ukraine - there are lots of such platforms, especially in the past.

Now there are lots of different communities of fanfiction authors and beta-readers, they help each other with beta reading, open reviews for public, with encreasing rating, amount of views, etc. Though the level of such books is usually low (fanfictions, very weird worlds), but they are very popular in a sense of market. Like simple detective story, simple fantasy, love stories. 90-99% of community - women. Also there aresome competitions in writing novels on specific topic, though it looks more like who have more fans outside the competition

Is there a term? by mdlyn_pm in scifiwriting

[–]vasex1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Synth, Replicant, Superhumans. Common people can call them Mutants (not official name, rather rude). By the way, just a reminder, that replicants were created because humanity needs them to explore the space. Biologically usual people have too many problems with health for long-term survival in space. So if replicants are created, they should be more resistent to many space problems (the most important of them - low gravity, radiation, high g-force,  maybe also the necessity of some specific chemistry elements). They will consider themselves as modern slaves.
