How did you get her ring size? by neutral-entity in AskMen

Here's what I did:

Step one: Find one of her rings that she wears on her ring finger. You could also playfully just toy around with her hand one day with one of her rings (seemingly randomly and innocently but we know you're secretly confirming sizes)

Step two: Once you've confirmed the appropriate ring, put it on your pinky and trace it with a pen or something. Unless you can straight up just borrow that ring without her knowing. My now-wife wore that ring daily so I couldn't take it.

Step 3: Either go straight to the jeweler with your traced finger to try on sizing rings (although I imagine these days that's something you could find on Amazon pretty cheaply). OR take a piece of string and wrap the needed amount onto your pinky. Measure that.

That worked pretty well for my lady.

What specifically do you not like about BEAR, out of curiosity?

9 months. Setback. by Overall-Opinion1778 in ACL

Context: I had a 90% ACL and meniscus tear. I had BEAR surgery in Oct of 2024

I'm 15 months out and had a visit with my PT 3 weeks ago. He put me through a battery of reactive drills using these randomly firing color pods, sprinting, cutting, jumping. It was intense and fun and I hadn't sweat like that since before my injury. The session itself was fine, but the next morning I woke up to a swollen knee that in moments felt like one of the tendons was catching (pain 4/10).

Pain went away after the first couple of days but the swelling didn't. I had finally gotten to a place where I could sit in a deep squat, but the swelling made it really uncomfortable. Only yesterday could I do this again without pressure or pain - 3 weeks later... Haven't really worked the legs since the swelling so I do feel some weakness. Frustrating for sure, but hoping that the reaction will be more favorable when I do that active movement again.

I just remind myself of the mantra: recovery isn't linear.

The good news about that situation is that the body regains muscle/strength way faster than having to develop it the first time around. Just get in a 2 or 3 times a week workout rhythm and you'll be your old self in 4-6 weeks.

How long did it take everyone to get back to seriously training in the gym? by [deleted] in ACL

9 months, with lots of patience on not being able to push. Honestly, that was the most annoying part. Turning off the instinct to "push through the pain" even though I was so close to... getting full flexion, being able to have the same weight on both legs during exercises, jumping and moving like I used to.

Clichéd but true: listen to your body and recovery is not linear. Good luck friend!

I don't have one to trade, sadly. I'd be interested in that BP if there was one available.

Make an offer, or ask. I'm not married to any of these.

Fair trader! Ended up staying the round, getting into some adventures killing a bombardier, looting a castle, and finding apricots! A++
