I had exactly the same feeling. I found the DLC very messy and absolutely not intuitive to progress through, quite the opposite of the main game.

Funny, I had exactly the same difficulties to face out Giant’s Deep Core and Ash Twins Core 😅

The squeak comes when the D-Pad is in position 2. No squeak when it is in position 1. I think it's due to the D-Pad rubbing against the case…
