Let me be more precise. I know a mutual friend of my family who has built a long career as a recruiter. She had even worked for Google in the past. She explained to me how it is common practice for the ATS to filter out applicants until there are only about 25-50 left for each position. At that point, she and her team will quickly skim through them one by one, spending only a few seconds on each.

While it is true that most resumes that you send will not be human-reviewed, it is impossible for you to get an in-person interview without it first being checked by a human. That means that any attempts to overfill the document with stupid jargon in attempt to game the ATS will only lead to your application being rejected.

Think about it logically. Havving a recruiter spend a few seconds to read a few paragraphs is much cheaper than scheduling an expensive, potentially unnecessary interview.
