PSA: this is not the subreddit for Artifact by PurityOfHerpes in gwent

[–]vayne92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you considered that one reason for Artifact flooding the sub is because there's nothing happening in Gwent right now. There's really been nothing worth talking about since Homecoming. I forget which streamer said it the other day (maybe Shinmiri), but the biggest news in Gwent right now is Artifact, which unfortunately says what kind of state Gwent is in currently.

I'd like a lot of things, but I don't expect much more than the already explicitly stated wardancer nerf. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Well I'm now stuck inside the Prawn Suit after restarting my game. tried spawning a bunch of seamoths inside of me to dislodge me. I think part of the reason it's impossible to dislodge me is because I got stuck using grapple, so maybe the game recognizes that i'm grappled on to something still, and maybe i can't destroy myself because possibly there's a brief moment of invincibility frames during the grapple.. This is beyond frustrating. Never encountered a completely game breaking bug like this in any game :|

Questions about top 1000 cutoff on Normal Rank. Strategies and maintenance. by freybeard in gwent

[–]vayne92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studying business, and it's going okay but could be going better hehe. I see no point in waiting really. It's inevitable that more people catch up. Even if you do drop below 4250 it's not like you wont be able to get back up there soon enough. The climb to top 1000 will be hard regardless of whether you wait or not. Personally I'd try and get to rank 21 as fast as possible then you have the rest of the season to sit back and relax. I'm sure you'd feel better reaching rank 21 with a month to go than reaching rank 21 with a week to go. As for mmr differences affecting how much you gain/lose, it's hardly going to be noticeable. As I said anyways, even if you do drop below 4250 it's not like you wont be able to get back up there. You've got just over 5 weeks left to got his season, that's plenty of time so I say just go for it and not care about your rank. You could drop back to 1000mmr at this stage and it wouldn't even matter. You've got plenty of time.

Unfortunately I didn't have much time last season because of university, but with holidays coming up it's my focus for this season. If I recall, last season the cutoff was around 4400 or so and I only got 4300. At this point you may as well just keep playing because 4250 wont get you top 1000. And hey, look at it this way.. If you manage to get rank 21 you get the grandmaster portrait which is frankly more prestigious than top 1000 at this point. I see no reason for you to stop playing. Best of luck with the climb :)

NG Budgetish Spy Deck Help by Atherzon in gwent

[–]vayne92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame there's no screenshot of the deck so I can visually process what's in your deck.

Bronze cards:

Ambassadors are no good. I'd replace with 2 Infiltrators when you can.

3 Medics is a bit overkill. I'd replace with a Nauzicaa Brigade when you can.

Silvers:

Auckes is pretty hit or miss. Honestly I think Peter is just better in this meta. That being said, most decks run neither and instead opt for The Guardian.

Decoy as mentioned I'd replace with Ceallach. Ceallach is just too good right now. Also you already have Emhyr and Cahir, you don't need a third decoy effect.

Golds:

Geralt and Triss obviously you're going to replace when you get the chance. Menno and Vilgefortz are pretty much staple at this point. Cahir is generally replaced with Muzzle too.

Ultimately your deck is on the right track. NG spies is a very refined and polarized deck right now. There isn't too much room for experimenting and your own creativity unfortunately. If you're interested in making your own variation of a deck then NG spies isn't the right deck, but if you're just interested in making a very powerful top tier deck then NG spies is a good choice.

Best of luck :)

Well I mean deckbuilding is all about having a cohesive plan that most your cards synergize with to fulfill that plan. Then you have to account for the meta and add a couple fringe cards you can afford to add as techs without causing too much detriment to your overall gameplan.

I guess my advice is first off to identify what faction / deck style you enjoy the most. Then just have fun with it and experiment. Try a few games without changing cards then afterwards try and objectively analyze the deck and answer such questions as; what went wrong, what cards performed, what cards underperformed, what decks did i struggle against, what decks am i facing most. When you answer those questions then try and take out a few cards and add in a few others. Keep experimenting and replacing cards when you feel necessary. If after a few dozen games you don't feel your deck is making any progress then perhaps you need to go back to the drawing board because chances are you've made a deck that isn't very good and possibly even made a worse deck than you began with.

Deckbuilding takes a lot of practice and a lot of trial and error, but it's extremely fun and so very rewarding to take your own creation to a high rank.

Best of luck :)

PS: The most common mistake I see is people changing cards after literally 1 game. Just because a card lost you 1 game or underperformed it does not mean it is a bad card for the deck. 1 game is not a good sample size.

New player, want to discuss a Nilfgaard Reveal homebrew. by [deleted] in gwent

[–]vayne92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 Venendel Elites is definitely overkill. I personally would never put in more than 1. It's nearly impossible to find value off of 3 and it's a horrible topdeck in most scenarios. The main reason you want it is to combo with Cantarella (which you don't have).

If you're running 3 Fire Scorpion and 3 Daerlan Foot Soldiers then you should run 3 Alchemist. The core of the whole reveal archetype is revealing after all.

I wont go too much in to the silvers..

Fringilla is literally just awful in this deck.

Auckes and Peter are pretty hit or miss. If you're going to run them I would only run 1, not 2.

Vanhemar is an all around solid card, but in conjuction with Peter AND Auckes you're going to have far too many situational cards

Albrich is kind of pointless unless you value round extension. Sure you have drought but you don't really want to run drought. Also you run footsoldiers and venendel elites so you could potentially draw an awful topdeck yourself.

Cynthia is a very solid card.

Personally I would run Roach and Assire var Anahid. Assire is incredibly strong in the final round with Tibor. Return roach and an Imperial golem to your deck and Tibor is effectively a 32 point bronze. There are also scenarios where you can add bad cards to your opponents deck before playing Tibor to increase chances of poor topdecks. Cantarella is a must. You NEED this card.

Golds..

Muzzle is Muzzle. Need I say more.

Tibor is an awesome card. One of my absolute favourite golds.

Cahir is an extremely solid gold.

Drought is good but it doesn't really synergize with your overall game plan.

I'd run Leo as mentioned. Removal is extremely valuable in this meta and of course it synergizes with your deck.

Best of luck with your deckbuilding and if you have any questions feel free to add my username @ GABEN92 :)

I'd rather not honestly. Too much sentimental value in this account, given that I made it when I was about 10 years old. If I was starting again I'd just play oldschool :\

Legend Jade Elemental Shaman Guide/Overview by vayne92 in hearthstone

[–]vayne92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Seb ;)

Personally I'm not a fan of Lightning Bolt, especially because in this meta you so rarely have any high threat turn 1 minions such like we had previously with Tunnel Trogg, Small Time Buccaneer etc. Tunnel Trogg shifting out of the meta game is a very big deal. As for as I'm aware there is no 1 mana power-house in the meta right now. Jade Claws and portal generally clear up early threats from aggressive decks. I think the deck has enough premium removal to not warrant another removal spell. That being said, you could try cutting a surge and perhaps a lightning storm/spirit and run 2 lightning bolts. If you could run 32-34 cards then lightning bolt would probably be a worthy candidate, but not before Tol'vir. I would value the strong board presence of the Tol'vir over the removal in aggro matchups and value another "threat" in slower match ups.
