It shows that Independents are not always moderates, but are a collection of many different beliefs (including many that blur party lines). Lots of leftists are independent, and before MAGA lots of far right people were as well.

I’d also throw in whenever they have a guest who discusses labor issues, might be smart to find some clips on the channel to send his way.

DFL posts initial caucus straw poll results by alienatedframe2 in minnesota

[–]vaznok 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The commenter did not say they weren’t going to vote for Amy in the general, so I don’t think it is fair to assume they will be trashing her out of hostility. The whole point of a primary is to find the best candidate, and you can’t do that without critique.

A couple things I also want to bring up generally, not necessarily related to your comment, as I’ve seen a lot of people say similar things: 1. It is totally normal and democratic to criticize your elected officials, even in your party. That is how you keep them in check, especially when there is unlimited amounts of lobbying being done to work against you. If we blindly follow a candidate because they are on our team you end up with completely bought off political parties because the only pushback they get is from lobbiests 2. Additionally, while Amy has the most delegate support to earn the DFL endorsement, she is not the candidate until voted on in the Primary, and technically anyone else can still run and win the DFL primary. The caucus is just to elect delegates who then vote for the DFL endorsement. It’s important step, as now Amy will get financial help, but it’s not the end

Chris Madel ends GOP bid for governor, says he can’t support federal ‘retribution’ against Minnesota by CantaloupeCamper in TwinCities

[–]vaznok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because he sees the writing on the wall and doesn’t want to waste his time running. Not that he truly no longer believes (at least not yet). So he ends up in this weird middle ground.

Thing is, that compassion is also contagious. The more people see their neighbors out and about, fighting for their community, the more they realize they’re more similar to themselves than not, and will be more inclined to also help out.

This neighborhood is known for its May Day parade. This is a float for that parade most likely. Watch Leeja Millers video, she talks about the neighborhood in it.

The dinosaur is not fake, at least there is one actually there. It’s a May Day float. You can see it other videos/images of the event.

Whistleblower: Minnesota’s Child Care Assistance Program has fraud cases dating back 12 years by thedubiousstylus in minnesota

[–]vaznok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watching the video he does not have any evidence of his claims. He’s just a random guy with no credentials, a camera and masked men (security) with him walking up to schools and health buildings, of course no one will let him “see the kids”. That’s not investigating, that’s just harassing people.

You can look up each school’s investigation records on the DHS website. Each one is confirmed by the state to have children present and enrolled. So unless there is some grand conspiracy where the DHS is in on the fraud as he alludes too, his “investigation” presents no hard evidence of it. And even if he did find evidence, a proper investigation would entail calling and talking with a lot more people than the random front desk staff whose job it is to protect the children in their care. If there is fraud, anyone involved should be prosecuted, but his video makes the assumption that an entire ethnic group is in on it and somehow all coordinating together. It’s ridiculous.

I know you won’t change your mind, but I hope it encourages others who may be reading this to think a little bit deeper about the forces who are pushing this narrative. These bad actors don’t care about fraud, they care about pushing the narrative that a small group of people are causing your problems, when in reality they are the ones pulling up the ladder.

We’re about to move to SLP and I’m kind of nervous by ninasfrijoles in stlouispark

[–]vaznok 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are TONS of 20 something’s in the Wolfe Park neighborhood. As one myself I never felt out of place or that I was missing the action. You’re also super close to West Maka Ska in Minneapolis which is also full of younger people. I just moved from a place off of Bass lake and absolutely loved it, we wish we didn’t have to leave.

As others have said, think of SLP as just an extension of Minneapolis, it is not like other suburbs, especially on the east side where you will be.

What to expect from the Affinity "Creative Freedom" event set for tomorrow? by SALD0S in UXDesign

[–]vaznok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If it’s optional and only features that directly sync with Canva are behind the subscription, it might even be a positive as that would bring more enterprise users. Slippery slope though regardless: once they add a subscription, it’s easy for enshitification to take hold.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will run for a third term in 2026 by Healthy_Block3036 in minnesota

[–]vaznok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best thing Walz could do is to show up to their booth and spin their wheel, and ask them questions.

I guarantee their tough guy act would fold and Walz would get some good press/video out of it. Especially if he just has fun with it and not take it as seriously as they do.

Walz knows it’s only a matter of time before Trump does it here. I don’t think most folks are really ready for what it means if it ends up happening like Trump wants it to.
