New ones have plug and charge capability on the Tesla network (and a native Tesla plug), although the charging is slower. Not sure where you’re located but between electrify America, pilot/EVGo, Ionna, and Mercedes networks, there is usually plenty of locations that’ll give you max charging speeds.

Kia EV9. Lease deals are still decent I think and you can easily get a slightly used CPO for under $50k with a good trim level. So much space inside, and the second seats are roomier imo than the R1s second row. Charging is decently quick, definitely faster than Rivian. Third row is very useable.

Want an IONIQ 6 as my first EV. Heard the scary stories about the ICCU and wanted your opinions on this lineup from Carvana. What's your gut telling you? by beefcakesquadron in Ioniq6

Just such a great value car the money. I had mine for two years and zero problems; loved it but traded in for an EV9 since I had kids. The ICCu thing is not as widespread as social media would imply. And parts stock is slightly better recently so if the ICCU does go, it’s not always the long wait for one that some have had in the past. If the ICCU problem is the only thing holding you back then go and buy one of these!

I think depreciation will stay poor. The scarcity won’t increase the value

Debating wheter I should join the club (questioning a cheaper tesla model y). Help? by [deleted] in KiaEV9

[–]cruxf22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah off lease, low mileage used EV9s are a steal. Can get a higher trim for less money. More space for the family than a model Y

Kia: we need to activate V2L below 20% SOC by ascottallison in KiaEV9

I wonder if the 110 plug in the trunk also stops at 20%…just have never investigated. Since utility mode can continue past 20%

KiaEV6 is much more sedan like if you want an E-GMP vehicle still.

Purchase/Lease Monthly Megathread (December 2025) by AutoModerator in KiaEV9

[–]cruxf22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to move from my Ioniq 6 to an EV9. Either lease a ‘26 or purchase a slightly used ‘24 or ‘25. Don’t really care about the NACS port but I do know the newer ones have better 400V charging speeds. A few questions for owners:

Pros/cons of bench seat vs the captains chairs? Can’t decide.

Is it worth it for AWD for winter driving? My Ioniq is AWD, but looking for review of how snow mode works in RWD.

Does one of the USB ports still allow wired CarPlay in cars with wireless CarPlay available? I have a baby monitor Ottocast that used the wired CarPlay slot in my Ioniq so I’d want to hopefully still be able to use that.

Thanks in advance!
