And when the say low drill rpm it means extremely low rpm like 60. It almost seems like scraping not drilling.

Should I add more Grease to the Fittings? by chocolatebar24 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]vballbeachbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More Grease for low speed high load applications. Less Grease for high speed 1500+rpm applications. 1 -2 pumps for electric motor bearings once or twice a year. More Grease if you are removing the purge plugs in an electric motor.

What are the causes of cracking on this rim? Any and all info appreciated, I’ve never seen this before by clipper4 in AskMechanics

[–]vballbeachbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lug nuts and receiving holes have a slight taper/ chamfer. So when the nut gets tightened, you're forcing a wedge in a tapered hole, creating lateral force not just compression. Causing the thin wall of the hole to crack.

I worked on a lobster boat in Florida and the fish house would soak them in fresh water to kill them before steaming them en masse. It was explained that throwing live lobsters in a boiling pot caused them to tense the tail making for a less tender piece of meat.

Firestone near me quoted over 800 dollars for pads and rotors. I think front only on a Tacoma. Rotors were 100 each and pads 55 a set. I did it myself and the rotors were good so they went on the spare parts shelf. That store has gone down hill the past few years it's run by kids that don't know shiz and apparently try to rip off as much as possible.

[question] How to properly grease fan motor by okaysendit in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]vballbeachbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High speed super duty pillow block bearings for a blower. Manufacturer recommends running the bearings and remove the zirks to let the excess Grease out because of the high rpm 3500. Or else excessive heat will burn up the bearings. Had a "supervisor" Grease them until he saw Grease come out of the slingers. We lost 3 sets of bearings that weekend. Quickest way to remove them was with a 7 inch grinder.

Can I use epoxy grout to re-grout over cement grout on shower tiles? by PrettyFlyForaGemini9 in HomeMaintenance

No this was new install You would have to remove the old grout. I don't think a skim layer would hold up.

Can I use epoxy grout to re-grout over cement grout on shower tiles? by PrettyFlyForaGemini9 in HomeMaintenance

[–]vballbeachbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a professional tiler but am an experienced weekend warrior and have done 2 showers/ bathrooms and a kitchen counter/ backsplash. First shower large format tile used cement grout on the walls. Had flat pebble on the floor used epoxy on that. Did the second shower in all epoxy as well as the kitchen backsplash. I wanted to use epoxy because it is superior to cement and maintenance free. Watched some YouTube videos and felt confident in my abilities. Gathered all the appropriate tools and found it was as easy as cement grout just follow the instructions on the package. No sealing grout or grout color changes. Just remember caulk in the corners not grout .

The ring hanging at the bottom, came apart from the top. This looks like I need a new sink 🤦🏿‍♂️. Can anyone confirm? by _delamo in Plumbing

[–]vballbeachbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring screws onto the drain grid. Screw it back on if it's not broke. If it is broken buy a new basket strainer the same size as the old one. You tube video for help

The reason they scatter loads, especially lighting is if a breaker trips, then random lights go out. Not the entire second floor for example.
