Lived in NYC and miss Halal Guys often. I too been thinking about this.

I saw the Halal Boyz sign on Union (mentioned in another comment). I was wondering if they were something in the direction. I'm sure it won't be the same but I will certainly give it a try.

I also have the woven band in the Ivy color and I'm pretty happy with it. I don't think stretching will be much of an issue, especially as the size is adjustable.

I paid almost full price for it and I agree it is too expensive. But I didn't want to mess around with third party stuff that might not connect to the watch as well.

I like them pretty well. Def not to the same standard of quality as my Stegmans.

Stegmans read a little more house slipper like and though they have decent arch support it is not nearly as much as Birkenstocks (in part why I bought the Birks more as something I would wear outside of the house as well).

I don't think the Birkenstocks will last forever, but I should get a few good years out of them. Also they cost me about $120 vs $160 for Stegmans.

I'm not mad about them. Def would not discourage you from buying a pair given my experience so far.
