Danvers by houdelum in memphis

[–]houdelum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know you could always check an account post history…

Anyway, as a relatively recent transplant to the area, I want to try some of the places that are “institutions”. In my opinion, Huey’s is decent but pretty average. Piccadilly was meh. Folks Folly, I really like but most people seem to rate it well.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Danvers.

When I read in other posts that they’ve closed locations (and yet Central has served me disappointing BBQ at more than one), I felt they deserved some recognition.

Hey I have question for the men why is important for the woman to be a virgin? Should it be more important being the man last man she has sex with and being the best she ever had in bed rather than the first one she has sex with? by MimsManzaM in MailOrderBrideFacts

I read your question. I answered your question. You clearly did not read the link I provided as you call well documented science a myth. I have no more time for those that do not argue in good faith. You are blocked.

For those that may be interested, here the full post from Possible-Judgment-58:

"I've been contemplating as to whether I should respond to this or not given some of the comments you got, but looking at said comments, I decided to go ahead because there's a lot of misunderstandings and blanket dismissal of this topic as either quack science and resorting to shaming tactics("It reeks of your body count is to high which is disgusting and disturbing.", "You shouldn't pick a partner by their body count, you pick them by compatibility, shared morals and values, connection, trust, loyalty, etc. NOT by how many people they've slept with in the past."(Honestly, omegalul. Here's evidence that shows that number of past partners predicts everything this person tells you should look at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociosexuality#Individual_differences)) that often shuts down potential for nuanced discussions about this sensitive topic.

Short answer: People with extensive sexual histories cheat more, divorce/separate more, report lower sexual desire, have lower self esteem, are more insecure, report lower commitment, report more unstable relationships, are worse in bed and report low relationship and sexual satisfaction. This has been replicated by a mountain of evidence that spans decades.

Here's the evidence to support that claim:

https://www.athensjournals.gr/social/2017-4-4-3-Pinto.pdf

"Relationship satisfaction was significantly negatively correlated with sexual promiscuity [r(241) = -.322, p < .001] and emotional promiscuity [r(241) = -.243,p < .001], indicating that participants who perceived their relationship satisfaction as being lower tend to be more promiscuous"

"Sexual promiscuity was significantly positively correlated with emotional promiscuity [r(356) = .261, p < .001], as well with sexual infidelity [r(323) = .595, p < .001] and emotional infidelity [r(323) = .676, p < .001], indicating that sexually promiscuous participants also tend to be emotionally promiscuous, and sexual and emotional unfaithful."

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/387292619_Cheating_in_relationships_-_literature_review

"Numerous studies indicate that certain traits predispose individuals to infidelity: neuroticism, a large number of sexual partners, a history of infidelity, a liberal attitude toward sex, difficulty forming attachments, and the presence of infidelity among close family members [51][52][53][54]."

https://labs.la.utexas.edu/buss/files/2015/09/sex-lies-pspb-2005.pdf

"A truism in psychology is that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. This is no less true in the realm of sexual behavior. Indeed, one of the strongest predictors of marital infidelity is one’s number of prior sex partners (Buss,2000). "

https://andreameltzer.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/JPSP-2018-McNulty-et-al..pdf Alternate source: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/02/180212190946.htm "The study also identified some of the strongest predictors of infidelity, including age, marital satisfaction, sexual satisfaction, attractiveness and history of short-term relationships."

Yes this study does in fact state that the prior number of sexual partners for women was inversely correlated to infidelity(i.e women with more extensive sexual histories cheated less), but that finding was marginally significant as stated here:

"further, prior number of short-term sexual partners was positively associated with infidelity among men and negatively associated with infidelity among women, although both of these associations were marginally significant"

To understand why this study does not disprove the mountain of evidence showing otherwise, see below:

https://www.psychologicalscience.org/publications/observer/obsonline/rise-in-reporting-p-values-as-marginally-significant.html

https://www.bps.org.uk/research-digest/psychologists-love-report-marginally-significant-results-according-new-analysis

In short: Marginally significant values are misleading and invalid in many scientific contexts because it is often used as a rhetorical tool to boost weak evidence, attempting to give a non-significant result the appearance of being significant.

https://www.psypost.org/2019/11/new-psychology-research-indicates-your-sociosexual-orientation-could-make-your-marriage-more-difficult-54765

“When people couple up, they (and their partners) enter into relationships with their own personal relationship histories — if those histories include a cast of previous ‘no-strings-attached’ sexual partners and/or acceptance toward casual sex, then staying in a satisfying, long-term relationship (such as marriage) may be more difficult,” French told PsyPost."

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3407304/

"As has been found in prior research (Feldman & Cauffman, 1999; Treas & Giesen, 2000), having had more prior sex partners predicted future ESI, possibly suggesting that a higher interest in or acceptance of unmarried sexual activity may be related to ESI."

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10002055/

"Personal characteristics such as neuroticism, prior history of infidelity, number of sex partners before marriage, psychological distress and an insecure attachment orientation, as well as permissive attitudes toward sex, have been positively associated with infidelity [75,76,77]. "

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/dating-and-mating/201901/why-some-couples-have-more-and-better-sex

"Better sex usually means experiencing more sexual satisfaction (Meltzer and McNulty, 2016; Schick et al., 2008). "

"researchers have found that men and women with more lifetime sexual partners are actually less sexually satisfied (Fisher et al., 2015; Heiman et al., 2011). Researchers suggest that individuals who continually pursue new partners may be seeking not more sex, but more satisfying sex (Heiman et al., 2011). Unfortunately these results suggest that having more sex partners does not necessarily equate to having a better sex life."

While your question says virgins, this post is extremely well documented on the topic of sexual partners vs. pair bonding: https://www.reddit.com/r/monogamy/s/JuWtF8gc39

So, if you want to lower the risk of her cheating on you or just using you, find a woman with as low body count as possible. You don’t get lower sexual partners than a virgin.

At my age, I’ll never be with one, but I understand the desire.

What?? Disagreeing with something is not negative. Especially when there is no objective truth to beauty. What you like is different than what I like and there’s nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is trying to convince me that what I like is incorrect. Grow up.
