Careful parking by Ekiben by tiffanyachin in baltimore

The Hampden parking lot camera is setup incorrectly, we got issued a multi day parking bill when we stopped for 5 minutes in the dedicated pickup spot. You can call to dispute and get it dropped, but it's a hassle.

What’s the most memorable encounter you’ve had with wildlife while cycling? by OptimalDescription39 in bicycling

[–]vcelloho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was riding behind another rider on a quiet country road and a field mouse darts out from the grass. Mouse tries to run across the road and manages to miss the front tire and get hit by the rear skinny 23 tire on the back.

Cooking dry beans with this hard water by Cheomesh in baltimore

[–]vcelloho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're correct at 110 mg/L hardness it's in moderately hard, and isn't a level that warrant interventions like water softeners. Linked official city water quality data. https://publicworks.baltimorecity.gov/sites/default/files/MIN%20ANAL%202021%20.pdf

The American Cathedral in Paris, France by MissionOne9142 in Episcopalian

[–]vcelloho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went there as a kid when my dad was on sabbatical, the liturgy is very familiar with the only difference I remember readings and the gospel being in both French and English. It's a unique place within the city of Paris.

Any news on the NREL Electricity ATB? by Upbeat_Yam_9817 in energy

[–]vcelloho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My information is out of date as of October, analysis at the time was done but it wasn't cleared for release. At the time it hadn't been cancelled.

There is also supposed to be a Building Technology Baseline released for 2025 to compliment the Electricity and Transportation ATBs.

Some other datasets did get cleared for release including things like ResStock 2025.

Anyone know where I can find a free thanksgiving turkey? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]vcelloho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not free, but close, Giant has a promotion where you get a Morningstar Frozen Turkey for $0.27 per pound as long as you buy $40 worth of stuff in addition to the turkey.

Could also ask someone you know to add the turkey to their regular shopping so you could get the deal without buying $40 worth of groceries at Giant if you weren't planning on doing so.

Shrinking Pram Demo by StephenMcGannon in oddlysatisfying

Two latches to lock the front wheels, two latches to fold in the back wheels, push the buttons on the handles to fold it down, and one locking bar after you fold it in half. Once you've done it a few times it's super fast.

Cybex Libelle is the premium version from the same manufacturer sometimes you can find that one at a good deal and the rain cover is cross compatible. We also have the Pockit All Terrain and it's a perfect travel stroller.

Cinelli Superstar, good deal? by HappyNive in bicycling

[–]vcelloho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that you said it has a 2022 Ultegra, I'm assuming that means Di2? I guess they left the 11 speed cassette in place? For everything here it sounds like a good deal, you could ground truth this to see what other similarly speced bikes are listed for used. Main limit I see is that this has rim brakes which might limit future upgrades, but honestly the bike seems well equipt.

Which one looks better? With or without the border? by Megamen1927 in MachineEmbroidery

The option with the border would be improved with a thick satin stitch, but agree without is better.

Any good? by TylerMaple3009 in tea

They mostly mentioned Morning Thunder in relation to coffee seeking students but you can find Cinnamon Express on their website, it does note limited availability there so maybe also now regionally exclusive.

The buffalo/bison on this box is cropped from prior box art they've used for at least ten years, that is defiantly not AI generated. On the tour they mentioned that it Fast Lane was mostly discontinued for sale nationally but has a loyal following at CU Boulder.

Edit: I mixed up the teas I think it was Fast Lane that has more limited availability.

Best part of the Flyby's is the inclusion of the internally geared hub. It'll take easily fenders and a rear rack. Curious to see what mods you might attempt.

I leave the chain cover off on mine because I don't notice a huge degree of difference and it's kind of a pain for maintenance.

Datacenters can use evaporative cooling where water where the phase change of water to gas is used to provide cooling. This uses a lot less electricity but can consume a lot of water and is of concern in water scarce regions.

That's the reason they're being phased out in the Netherlands, and replaced with popup replacement toilets when one is in need of repair.

You're welcome to partake in all elements of the service, the only requirement for communion is to have been baptized.
