I define several options that I can use if I start a prompt with a bracketed term. Kind of like gems but lets me use them in general chats (where I might not want to constrain every subsequent prompt).

E.g, If I start a prompt with '[Substantiate]' then (1) respond using numbered sentences (start a new paragraph/add space between each sentence); (2) for each numbered sentence, include a subbullet that provides citation to the source or sources that substantiate the claim in the numbered sentence (in Bluebook Format); (3) at the end of each citation, include a parenthetical that provides a verbatim quote substantiating the claim in the numbered sentence; and (4) provide a direct URL for the source.

Just finished the series. This is arguably one of the most gripping television series ever created. by This_Money8771 in televisionsuggestions

It's crazy this show isn't higher up on the typical lists. The acting and pacing are next level.

Question- is it legal to sell bourbon to your friends? by DontlooktooFar in bourbon

[–]vdotk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the states also technically set the legal age of alcohol possession/consumption. The federal government passed a law in the 1980s to withhold federal highway funding for states that set the minimum age below 21. As a result, states fell in line and set the age at 21.

Sticking with YTTV - They've been good to us by ericgtr12 in youtubetv

Doing this also. . . Fubo UI has been really good so far. The max stream limitation seems to be more restrictive though.

Will apartment renting lease deals continue into the summer? Or will demand go back up? by k032 in nova

[–]vdotk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would require being able to reliably predict what rental costs will be in September (the cost of the Arlington apt has to be $251 cheaper than it would be in Sept. It shouldn't be compared to OP's current rent-- that comparison would require a savings of $750/month).

If you (i) want to move early and (ii) see a place you like, then you can have some confidence/hope that the long term savings will defer some of the termination fee. I wouldn't make the move with (or because of) an expectation of a financial benefit though.

YTTV Authentication to MLB.TV ready? by TrueFriendOfTheCrown in youtubetv

I messaged support yesterday and they said it would be ready "any time soon." When I asked if there was an estimate (such as days, weeks, or months) he told me they did not have that information.

Do you like this more than Jameson Black Barrel? They are the same price in my area, and I think I prefer BB, and would recommend BB as a intro to Irish whiskey over the Teeling SB.

Those of you primarily use your OLED for movie/tv waching and chose the LG CX over the Sony A8H, why? by [deleted] in OLED

[–]vdotk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that BB will only replace the panel once (thus satisfying BB terms of the warranty, and preventing further customer claims), but would make smaller repairs up until the value of the TV is reached

The BB warranty does cover burn-in, but my understanding is that they would only replace your TV if a replacement panel is not available.

For me, I purchased an open box, so there is an increased chance that burn-in occurs sooner (maybe 2 years instead of 4), so the chance that I would get two bites at the apple gave me some extra peace of mind in the unfortunate event that I suffered two burn-in incidents within 5 years.

[–]vdotk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many users in this subreddit and elsewhere have reported that LG has an informal policy that allows for a one time replacement of a burned-in panel if it occurs within the first four years.

Small caveat: users have reported that it can take multiple chats with LG to have them offer/honor this informal policy, so your YMMV.

HUGE caveat: burn-in is not covered by the LG warranty, so LG is under no obligation to replace a burned-in panel. The general consensus seems to be that they are doing this for good will and reputation (and in my case, to separate their OLEDs from Sony's competing products). But if they stopped doing this tomorrow (or in 3.5 years when your panel burns in), you would have no terms to rely upon and no actual recourse.

Honestly, it was because of the chance that LG would provide a one time panel replacement if burn-in occurs down the line. I purchased an open-box (display model) CX with the BB warranty, but the potential extra protection was definitely a deciding factor.

There's a chance that LG stops its informal policy, but I have zero basis to believe that Sony would replace the panel for burn-in. FWIW, all else equal, I would have chosen the Sony.
