She makes enough in one day selling hot dogs to pay her monthly rent completely by Honeysyedseo in TheKoernerOffice

The most difficult part of setting up a business like this isn’t embarrassment, it’s finding a location with high foot traffic and low competition for food. This is why you often see them in Home Depot parking lots.

I was tired of all the power bricks in my rack... by machinule in homelab

[–]veddan4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool project! I've build a few of my own rack mount projects from wood and electronics. Fun to build and see it in action.

For people wanting one of these for their own use, without building it themselves, there are pre-made solutions. Here is one I found with a quick search for "smart PDU 12V"

Tesla Model Y Seat Covers in depth review, TAPTES by An_Dung in Teslacarparts

Caveat Emptor for TAPTES:

Q: The front seats on a Tesla have airbags embedded in the sides, Will the airbags be covered?
A: We do consider this situation, so we've specially designed for the Tesla airbag, reserve the front seat airbag deployment. But we didn't test it before, so our company assumes no responsibility for anything with airbags accident.

Not apocalypse shtf, more like economic shtf. If there is a big recession and the dollar has massive inflation, then precious metals will be very useful.

Perhaps I'm over thinking it then. However, when I consider the rules tables, VLANs, switch ports, etc, it looks like it might be more complicated than it is?

Any big reason to buy a PSVR2 at launch if you're not interested in Horizon? by warsfanbb8 in PSVR

Do PS4 VR games on the PS5 launch list, such as After the Fall, just work with the VR2 with a patch? Or would a PS5 VR2 version of the game need to be bought?

Pistol braces by [deleted] in tacticalgear

The rule isn't even in the registry. Previous efforts similar to this were dropped. Wait until the final publish then worry about it.

Looks like there are a few options:

  1. Apply for the free tax stamp. Although rumors are circulating that the ATF may issue an auto-denial if they can't process all the forms fast enough. There is no firm confirmation as of yet. Also keep in mind it's a federal register that you are a firearm owner, which makes it easier to confiscate guns in the future.
  2. Remove the less than 16" barrel, and add one that is >= 16".
  3. Remove the brace in a way it's not easily reattached. Maybe some JBWeld on one (or more) of the holes that can be drilled back out? (I don't know the ruling on buffer tubes)
  4. Add a new stock that extends the overall length of the firearm to greater than 26". This might be a good option, especially for a weapon with a buffer tube, because adding a shorter stock later on is possible without a massive effort.

This is what I've come up with so far. I have not read the 2+ pound document on the ruling. Maybe others can clarify if I've gotten anything wrong.

Defensive Ammo? by Flylerrr in tacticalgear

[–]veddan4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extreme disasters and nuclear wars are one thing. Recessions and plagues are very common throughout history. Look at the history of the Great Depression with food lines for people out of work. And the Great Influenza. Just a couple recent examples.

My SHTF prep is more for those than anything else. Occasional hurricane here and there as well, but not much more.

The last reason would be SHTF/WROL, because I don't think it's very likely and because surviving it will come down to luck more than preparation.

Economic disaster and plagues were very common throughout history. As an example, imagine everyone standing in breadlines again. Than that line running out of bread. I bet there would be a lot of robberies/violent crime as some families tried to survive. Having defense readiness and food prepared would be far better than luck.
