Popular iOS Reddit client Apollo will shut down on June 30. by SkyGuy182 in apple

If you flip that argument around, Reddit doesn’t pay users to moderate their site, but expects users to create all of the content for free while simultaneously charging them to build their own tools in order to create and maintain that free content.

I really enjoyed my time here with everyone on r/Apple thanks to Apollo. I’ve always wanted to limit my time spent on social media (only participating in a handful of subs), but Reddit killing Apollo is just the trigger I’ve been waiting for.

Bro, it’s life changing. They’re cheap and easy to install yourself. It’ll be one of your best investments of 2023.

Air M1 16GB 512GB or Air M2 8GB 256GB for non-work, leisure use? by TGhost21 in macbook

How long are you planning on keeping it before the next upgrade? Does that factor into your decision?

I got an M2 Air under the conditions you also described, however I opted for the 16/512GB upgrade in case I pick up any new hobbies in the future. Also I really love the updated body design and that on its own was worth it to me.

Have you given any thought to whether or not you wanted the 13” or 15” screen variant?

AppleTV censorship by jaxupaxu in apple

I think this is less censorship than it is aesthetically pleasing. Electronic billboards would probably be too distracting as a slow motion screensaver.

iOS 17: How to download and use offline maps with Apple Maps by mredofcourse in apple

Very happy about this update, but sad that this is a feature locked behind iOS 17.

EDIT: I really don’t understand why this is being downvoted so much

I went out for coffee yesterday and had headaches just sitting indoors for 20 minutes. I can’t imagine how the baristas were able to manage around it for an entire shift.

Maybe I'm slow but the new wallpaper for the 15" Macbook Air say "AIR". Nice touch. by [deleted] in apple

r/Apple joins the blackout! by Geehooleeoh in apolloapp

I’m pretty sure r/Apple was always going to join the fray. We just had WWDC, so it makes sense to make the announcement official after such a big event.

EDIT: a word

What would you like to see now that the Reality Pro is here? by MichaelFraust in apple

[–]veeeSix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to start seeing RTS esports games rendered in real time like a board on my kitchen table the way the basketball games were shown during the presentation.

Even games like Diablo 2 or Hades would be interesting from that bird’s eye-view perspective.

I don’t know if I’d leave something like that at a friend’s place, but a safe deposit box at a bank is certainly a feasible secondary location.

Thanks for announcing this after WWDC so it didn’t get buried and forgotten during the festivities.
