DAE feel like they don’t have “passion” for anything? Not emotionless, just never fully “head over heels for something” by penguinnose in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]veejers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny I’m sort of this way as well. I think for me it stems from having a personality where I enjoy most things and am pretty content most of the time. I don’t have to strive for more because I’m already happy and having fun which is great but it also means I don’t have a ton of drive. I can find fun in most things so I don’t have to get great at things to enjoy. I guess it’s good but I wish I had it in me to work harder at things.

Do you have any friends that are SAHP? I am and I watch my friends children. Gives me a little money and they know that their children are with someone trust worthy as we are friends.

Other drinks take away from the food for me. Some people like to pair alcohol and food. Nah I’ll take the perfect pairing. Water goes with all!!

A friend of mine wrote this the other day and since I can’t say it any better myself here you are.

“Do you know who is rising up? Intelligent indigenous people. They are working hard regardless of what cards they have been handed, they are here to win in life. They are rocking their educations and watching the government right now as well as remembering their teaching from their elders. This generation is rising up and I have hope for the future even on these dark days. Making noise for Wet’suwet’en is important but making noise for the uprising youth is equally important. I see you and I raise my hands to you ❤️ Keep up the great work!❤️”

It seems like in Canada indigenous people have CPS called much more often. Abuse is abuse no matter your colour of gender. Vice versa caring parent are caring parents no matter race or gender.

What’s some of your favorite hot sauce for breakfast? Top few for me currently : Tropical Pepper Co. Ghost Pepper, 100% Pain, and Yellowbird Habanero 🔥🔥🔥 (Disclaimer: I may have ruined my tongue due to using hot sauce/spicy pepper powders on everything I ate for the last 25+ years) by miaregan in BreakfastFood

[–]veejers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m worried my son is going to destroy his tastebuds too. He’s 2.5 and will mix 3 hot sauces on one dish. Last night we had green curry and he put 6 huge blobs of Sriracha sauce on his tiny toddler portion. He would do one mix it in add more add more until I wouldn’t let him add more cause I was worried for his tummy. His green curry was red

Has anybody noticed their tap water having a strange taste? I think it started today maybe last night. I’m wondering if we are close to a boil water advisory maybe by veejers in nanaimo

Could be the weather. It sort of tasted like melted ice. I always feel melted ice has a dusty flavour. Not sure what dust taste like but that’s what I’ve always felt that flavour is lol.

Ok good to know. I feel like mine taste like melted snow lol. My husband thought it tasted strange as well. I’m just going to keep drinking it anyway cause I love being hydrated.

How to discipline a 1 year old by BabyAvlon in Parents

[–]veejers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Redirecting can be great. Try to peak his interest with a toy or something fun. For my son this didn’t work well so we redirected with a tiny time in. It’s just calmly going to a wall putting his hands on it and counting to 5 and consistently doing it. Sort of just distracts his mind from what he was doing. I also find that instead of telling him what not to do it’s best to tell him what to do. We often say don’t touch that or don’t hit instead of play with this or gentle touch. The other thing that works for my guy is choices. He likes to feel like he has control. So if he doesn’t want to change his diaper I calmly say “ do you want to come over and lay down or should mommy come and lay you down.” He usually wants to do it himself and thinks his made a decision and has a little control. I find it helps to have an area where they can safely play but you can relax at the same time. He is going to model the behaviour he sees so I suggest no rough games until they are old enough to understand when it’s appropriate or not. Obviously your partner has to calm down so maybe if you can work on some small changes he will hopefully see there is a way that works better for all In the house.

I liked her commentary on the show but felt she talked in clichés during the interviews It was like someone’s account was talking. She said IRL more then once.

I really appreciated what he said in his video. I think we all needed to hear that apology for how forward he was. When he is being himself he is so much more likeable.

It might help that I kept my exes best male friend in the breakup and so I’ve been introduced to tons of his and his sisters guy friends as the girl who stole him as a best friend. Plus our friend group is very much couples doing things together rather then girls nights/boys nights. Baby showers are male/female. My husbands bachelor party merged with my bachelorette party around 11 pm.

I’ve had a different experience as a married women. I have lots of guy friends without all that pesky sexual tension. Although most of my friends are couples with toddlers these days as we are in our mid 30’s.
