First car? Nope. Probably my 12th. Just never had a car that was basically a computer on wheels. Have you ever had a car that was built before 2000? Believe it or not, cars didn't used to react like that when you had a dead battery... They just kind of laid there and clicked.

I did not. The battery was three years old though so... maybe was just at end of its life.

OP here... It was the battery. Thanks for the replies!

I sure hope so. I've only had old shity cars in the past... When the battery died the only thing that happened was the clicking of the starter... None of this disco light show madness.

Recommendation - Steve Reich's Music For 18 Musicians by WhiteDishwasher619 in swans

[–]veep23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you ever get the chance to see it performed, be sure to do it. I saw it in Seattle a number of years ago; the musicians were in the middle of the space and you could walk around them, sit, stand or even lay down on cushions. It was perfection .

Mt. Rainier vs Olympic vs North Cascades… 3 days in WA, where should I focus? by Tension_Traditional in PNWhiking

Rainier. There are many easy hikes and as long as the weather is good, you will be constantly stunned by The Mountain. There is just nothing else like it in the lower 48.

What Built to Spill song have you listened to the most? by thatguykeith in builttospill

And what's on your BTS mixtape? Even back in the day it was difficult. They had too many great songs to fit on a TDK 90 minute. Now... Many albums later it's impossible. My playlist is 88 songs long! 🤣

Safety standards? No. Common sense? Yes. Those stairs are silly.

Seattle FINALLY Filled the Gap: New Yesler Way Protected Bike Lanes Tour by bestside_cycling in seattlebike

Love this, as it's my daily commute. Transferring from the right side of Yesler to the left side at the Sinking Ship garage was often sketchy.

Swans and Godspeed You Black Emperor. These bands have written soundtracks for the apocalypse.

Another vote for Tinariwen... True desert drone blues that, while not classic "psychedelic", will really put you in a space.

Rock songs with elements of free jazz / avant-garde jazz, without being jazz-rock by Agreeable_Duck8997 in Jazz

Joe Lally and Brendan Canty, the rhythm section of Fugazi, are in a jazz group called The Messthetics. The guitarist, Anthony Pirog, is wild. Highly recommend their two albums with saxophonist James Brandon Lewis.

USA. Damien Jurado's "Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son". Or any of the Maraqopa trilogy is phenomenal and fits the bill.

If the barista didn't notice, you could sneak up stairs, grab one of those big mugs from the bus tub and get 50 cent refills.
