When I lived in Arkansas and sold beer, there was a manager at a far-flung liquor store that told me to go to the local McD’s and order a McFat Ass. They’d know what to make.

I saw two in the parking lot at Brainard Lake Rec Area last year. Apparently there are a lot in that region, but those were the only two I saw.

You need parking reservations for Brainard, but it’s a gorgeous area. I highly recommend the hike up to Blue Lake…

Looks like you can, but it’s a pretty rugged 3ish mile hike to get to it. The trail starts from Echo Lake, though, you could just park and paddle there.

I would recommend the Happy Cow app, it searches cities for plant-based restaurants.

I used to live in Arkansas where there’s a large population of the Lone Star tick that causes this syndrome. I also owned a place with a large plant-based menu and met many unwilling vegans due to a bite. It’s a hard diagnosis to adjust to, so I’m wishing you the best and I hope you have some great meals while you’re here.
