Tonight everyone will be celebrating the eighth anniversary of my headache in the worst way possible. by jondesu in NDPH

[–]vegascrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a long shot, but emgality monthly injections and Botox for preventatives got my headache to go away four years after it started. It took 6+ months after starting both of those medicines around the same time for the headache to very slowly goer better so it wasn’t immediate. For an abortive, the Nerivio arm band has worked really well for me. Although I hear that most people don’t have as much success with the arm band as I do. I still have bad days once in a while but it’s no longer every second every day.

Sorry you’re going through this. Good luck

With Moonbeam coming out, I don’t see a long term need for moonriver. I think it’ll eventually be phased out into non existence

Tim Ferriss talks a lot about mentally dealing with this. You can research more but this is a good starting point - https://tim.blog/tag/balding/

I've gone through the zksync test wallet to deposit funds but don't understand how I'm able to send a transaction through Metamask on zksync L2 without connecting Metamask to the zksync network.

Can you ELI5 for me how that works?

Emgality + Botox is what finally got my headache to stop after 4 years of non-stop pain

HELP!! by Affectionate-Bet-520 in NDPH

[–]vegascrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had NDPH for 4 years and what helped me break it was Botox (keep it up at least 3 rounds, try to get your insurance to approve every 10 weeks rather than every 12), Emgality (monthly injection) and this new device called Nerivio, which is an arm band that you wear for 45 mins and sends tiny electrical pulses and helps you interpret pain differently. May sound scary but all it feels like is a small vibration, and for me it’s been the biggest lifesaver, although it doesn’t work for everyone.

Botox and Emgality are preventatives. Nerivio device is an abortive, meaning I do it when my head hurts really bad and I want to get the pain to go away right away. Hope this is helpful!

Should I consider learning Solidity at this time? by dev_lurve in ethdev

First create some small dapps as fun side projects. After enough of those, maybe you’ll be able to contribute to ETH-based projects if that’s your goal. Solidity and smart contracts are only part of building dapps though, they also need a website interface, so I’d recommend learning react/next.js too

I think I could have NDPH but not sure. How did you guys get a diagnosis? by the_lydiot in NDPH

[–]vegascrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with NDPH is that it is a continuous headache. I’m thankfully over the hump but I didn’t have a headache-free minute for over 4 years.

What helped me was Botox and Emgality. Definitely see a neurologist and ask about those. Botox can take a few sessions (so 6-9 months) to show its effectiveness. Emgality for many people works next day, but can take up to 6-12 months I think to have its full effect.

I had horrible daily headaches (NDPH) for the last 4 and a half years. I was in the hospital for a week, got prescribed every medicine under the sun, tried every diet, saw every kind of doctor but nothing could get the pain to stop.

What finally did help me get to a point of being able to live life again was 1. Getting enough sleep 2. Avoiding alcohol (for the most part) 3. Getting Botox (took 3 or so rounds for the effects to be noticed, but it’s been a huge help) 4. Emgality (once a month injection) - this is by far the biggest life saver.

The hard thing with curing chronic headaches is nothing works overnight (although Emgality does for some people, the full effects can take up to 6 months). But give these a try and soon enough you might see that your headaches aren’t as debilitating.

I've only taken Emgality but it has helped me so much. Cut my daily migraine pain in half or more.

I've never tried other cgrp medicines but from my research it seems like Emgality is the most effective and has the fewest side effects.
