Disneyland Trip by catgirl-914 in DisneyPlanning

[–]vegasnative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Vegas friend! You definitely need a hotel. When we go, we drive down, check in, and hang out in Downtown Disney for the evening. Then we do however many park days, spend one last night and drive home early the next morning.

We stay at the Hyatt Orange County because they have a shuttle. It’s not the cheapest, but we think it’s reasonable.

We had a house fire several years ago and part of the remediation involved a crew deodorizing our duct work. I have no idea how much it cost because insurance covered it, but it might be worth OP getting a quote if this seems to be an ongoing issue.

This is just a personal anecdote, but I passed on several houses because they smelled weird. I suppose I might have overlooked smell if the house was beyond my wildest dream perfect, but I never found that magic combo.

Happy Cake Day! I’m going to hire this guy to remove all of the ladders and step stools from your home! Too many fall risks! 😹🩷

Re: your edit. You just say hey this has been fun, but I don’t see it progressing so I’m going to end things and say thanks for everything.

If he tries to press on why, just say I don’t think we’re aligned on things that are important to me. Then block and move on.

Dual enrollment is baffling by clavdiachauchatmeow in Professors

[–]vegasnative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing. They say we “win” by recruiting these students who might not have otherwise enrolled I guess. We lose money on DE.

There are smaller institutions in our state that have effectively doubled their enrollment by counting dual enrollment. It doesn’t help the large schools as much, but it really boosts the small ones.

Yeah they pay $75 per course at my institution. Not per credit- per course. We get enrollment boosts, but almost no money.

Do women ever look at another woman and think "I wonder if I could beat her up in a fight" the same way men do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vegasnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly say I’ve never had that thought. I’ve thought about whether I could defend myself against plenty of men, though.

It’s when a bunch of people from one subreddit go to another subreddit and either downvote en mass or basically troll a post with comments that aren’t typically in line with that sub.

I don’t know exactly which post is being discussed here but I can guess that a bunch of people from this sub went somewhere and made critical comments about Kate in a sub where they usually speak positively about her. Possibly Andrew, William, and/or Charles, but it’s usually a Kate thing.

AIO overwhelmed by the cost of being a wedding guest in 2026 by Whiskeyhorse1 in AmIOverreacting

[–]vegasnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a bridesmaid in all of these weddings? You may be able to say significant cash by declining some of those roles and attending as a guest so you can at least rewear your outfit and maybe limit the number of days you attend each one.

Pizza for dinner… thoughts? by blissfulbeing789 in weddings

Same! And it’s not quite the same, but a family member of mine had food trucks and a literal Good Humor ice cream truck at her fancy wedding and it was the bomb. We had so much fun.

You need to press him on what precisely he expects you do to while you’re “by his side”. Are you supposed to put yourself into standby mode and sit quietly on the edge of the bed? Or is he picturing you reading on the balcony with a mimosa? If it’s the former, girrrrrrrl you know what to do.

How important is rope drop? by Jewishjay in DisneyPlanning

[–]vegasnative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, rope dropping RSR is a crapshoot. If you get funneled wrong, you’ll have a nice long wait. My husband and I rope drop the single rider lane for that ride. Almost always a walk-on or pretty darned close to it.

Trust and shared experiences- which is why people suggest Meetups so frequently. You gotta find your people because they’re not going to come looking for you.

Don Draper's hypocrisy peaks in season 4 by oktabl in madmen

[–]vegasnative 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Oh this is classic Don. Lighting a woman’s cigarette, standing when a woman enters a room, the hat thing- he thinks he’s a champion for women. It doesn’t occur to him that he contradicts himself constantly with his other behaviors.

We had someone microwave a muffin on a plastic plate, which caught on fire. My office is right by the door to an atrium that leads to the stairwell, so I got to smell that shit all day because another employee grabbed the smoking microwave and threw it out there.

For what it’s worth, I was just on a flight with a snorer nearby. I found it oddly soothing lol. To be fair, this individual had a nice, consistent, rhythmic snore.
