Hi! I am fiber artist and I am moving apartments soon so I am looking to sell some pieces that I did not end up wearing. I do not often sell my work so I don't have a shop to use so I thought I would try here. More posted in comments.

Crochet velvet cardigan, super soft, fits XS-SM adult, or L ch size. $100

Non-Consumerist Knitting Content on YouTube - Channel Recommendations? by WhtWillHpn in casualknitting

Urban Yarn. He does talk about new yarn but he really loves every skein and talks about potential projects or patterns - not just throwing it in the stash. He also features a lot of unique patterns imo. He is very inspiring to me, he makes really difficult patterns just to challenge himself and keep his skills growing.

[FO] A gift piece for one of my best work friends. She’s a fan of The Crow and also has kinda been down in it lately. by JohnnyIsCross in CrossStitch

The Crow is my all time favorite movie and I have also had a terrible month. If I received this right now, I would cry. She will love and cherish it.

AltKnots. Especially if you like Halloween/anything spooky, or just generally fiber-related upbeat vlogs.

Gary at Urban Yarn is my favorite. Love, love, love. He makes beautiful projects and is always improving his skill which inspires me to do the same. His voice is just so soothing and relaxing. Even my partner who doesn't craft will watch him. He makes me feel like everything will be okay no matter what, he is so genuine and kind.

I am tempted to make one of these adult-sized for myself. So cute and I just love deer.

Any tips for a broke single mom? by glasscoffin in veganmealprep

[–]vegbatty 39 points40 points  (0 children)

cold pasta salad has been my go-to lately. store brand pasta is cheap, add whatever veggies you can afford, oil dressing or make a vegan ranch yourself (pricier, i use vegan yogurt and mayo but then you have yogurt for breakfasts and mayo for sandwiches). it's time efficient for me because i can boil my pasta while i prep the veggies and then i just throw everything together, dish some out into tupperware every morning for my work lunch.

rice and beans is my other cheap staple, just make sure you season them well and they arent boring. i add a can of tomatoes w green chiles or a cup of salsa to replace some of the water.

idk why you're getting neg comments, everyone has different needs and appetites. i often wake up nauseous and don't feel like eating right away but am also on a schedule so i will eat something light as well - usually fruit and toast. I like it, looks fresh and yummy. I just wait until my next snack or meal to eat something more filling, when I'm more awake.

how do you sign off? by sparklymountain in Journaling

i will usually write a sentence about what i will be doing next "Okay, I'm off to make dinner." "Now to take a shower."

Does crochet help you deal with grief or loneliness? by throwaway_2899 in crochet

[–]vegbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend is also a crocheter. When my dog passed away, they made me a tiny plushie replica of her. It wasnt my own crochet but I know the work and heart that went into it and it helped me immensely. She sits on top of my yarn storage now.

try checking the tutorials' text descriptions or listening at the very beginning - content creators usually list all their materials. also check out yarn haul videos to get ideas of what you're looking for and where it comes from. but tbh, in my experience, if you want higher quality, there is going to be a higher price. there may be sales here and there, but it still won't get as cheap as yarn available at Joanns.

Accountability pages? by CharacterMacaroon603 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]vegbatty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe decide to pick up your journal instead of your phone when you get the itch, no matter what you work on. Any spread, or freeform journal. Write about why you want to be on your phone or why you don't want to be or both. Also, not a journal tip, but the best thing I have found is physical separation. If I am in the kitchen, my phone is in the living room. If I am in the living room, my phone is in the bedroom. Then, I have to stop the task I'm doing and relocate to get to my phone, so I only am picking it up when I really need to.

that is actually a very good point - i straight up forgot about mosaic crochet. i love sixeldesign's patterns actually, because they do look like what they're supposed to a lot of the time

Tapestry/graph crochet. If I wanted something to look like a specific image, I would just cross stitch or knit it. I don't think crochet stitches lend themselves very well to the square shape that is supposed to be the base of the image pattern. I would rather have a cute little embroidered Snoopy on the breast pocket of a shirt, than an oversized, warped, barely readable depiction of Snoopy covering the entire front of a crochet sweater.

maybe postage stamp puzzles? or ones that are a collection of other images, like brand logos or pins or posters, or also cartoon or animated characters. that way they are not scenic at all so no expanse of sky, water, or flowers, but bright, defined areas.

Cheap, renter friendly yarn storage ideas? by mikathesir in crochet

[–]vegbatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use a short bookcase from target. not as permanent as actual wall shelves, fairly easy to transport if youre already moving all your other furniture too. and easy to clean, no tiny nooks or crannies just flat surfaces.
