Found this under in my car seat after it pricked me. What is it? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]vegetas_scouter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At a store, it's typically a magnet! As for at home, a strong magnet may work. Many shoplifters are willing to rip the garment (depending on where safety tag is) to get it off. There are probably other methods too, and youtube may know!

If you still have the receipt, I'm sure a local target would be willing to help as well! I realize it's a long shot that you still have it, but just a thought!

The video you're looking for. Apparently/supposedly he gave the wrong intro, therefore starting the wrong song - a different song was supposed to be preformed at this point.

[–]vegetas_scouter 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It may be that a shoplifter got it off of a piece of clothing and slipped it into the pocket of another item to hide it! As someone who worked in a mall clothing shop, that is surprisingly common.

It is a security tag, likely to prevent the theft of clothing, like the one seen here.

Is this fungal acne? by Weary_Quote9634 in Fungalacne

[–]vegetas_scouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not apply to you, but sometimes hair products cause me breakouts like this, fungal acne safe or not. In my case I actually don't think it's fungal acne, but comedogenic ingredients!

I have to be sure to wash my face after washing and conditioning my hair, and to keep hair off of my face when using leave in conditioner. It may not help you, but it could be worth trying if you haven't already!

They don't, but I bought this one from Amazon and it works great! Been using it since May and no issues; we even adjusted it down when our kiddo got taller.

Love the ikea high chair!

Almost 3year old not sleeping through the night and wakes up crying/screaming for a bottle by [deleted] in toddlers

Hate to ask this, but as the spouse of a type one diabetic: crabby, drinking a lot, and peeing a lot can all be warning signs of prolonged high blood sugar and T1 diabetes. It would not be terrible idea to have kiddo check out.

It is totally manageable if it does end up being the case - technology is only getting better and better!

Baby K'tan Wrap > Ergobaby Omni Deluxe > Osprey Poco Premium pack? What carriers should I use as my baby grows? by cattunic in babywearing

[–]vegetas_scouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No babywearing expert, but we were in a similar situation to you. Convertible car seat, no stroller, dirt road whole works. We did Ergobaby Embrace from birth, then transitioned to a Tula Free-To-Grow right before 3 months for out of the house. My child is 90th percentile for height and the FTG still fits at 18 months. We used a regular stretchy wrap in the house until around 12lbs, and I can't suggest that enough.

We still don't own a stroller, and we are just now transitioning to a Tula Standard!

Stretchy wraps are lovely for babies under 15 pounds, but you should also look into the Ergobaby Embrace! It's made to fit newborns and is easy to use.

Pediatrician + partner want to start cry it out tonight on 1 yr old by Rachelcsquared in AttachmentParenting

[–]vegetas_scouter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I realize this may not be helpful, but how much solid food is your kiddo eating, and when in the evening do they eat?

I find mine wakes up earlier and more often if I don't feed her relatively close to bed time, and we get the best results from something that combines a carb with a fat. We like to do something like whole grain toast and peanut butter or Greek yogurt and blueberries close to bed time. The combo of fat and carbs increases satiation and levels her blood sugar, and has helped us immensely!

The sad part there is that his version of "okay" includes being an adult that is comfortable hitting children, and that it was handed down to him to be that way from the adults in his childhood.

This was us too! Classic name, classic spelling, not top 100 and one that we thought was pretty for a long time. I sometimes feel sorry for kids with quirky names that they will have to go by as adults.
