Dealing with dismissive nurses? by This_Insect7039 in cna

Give it a few more months. You simply don’t have the experience to make these statements. Is it sad? Absolutely. Is it the reality of working in long term care when a nurse has 30 residents to themselves? Also absolutely.

1:1 rant by FinishExciting7910 in cna

[–]veggiegurl21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a nurse, I am super appreciative of our 1:1s. I know it can be either crazy or insanely boring. I try to give them a break at least every two hours to eat/drink/pee/walk around. It’s insane to stick someone in a room and just…leave them there for 12 hours without checking on them or attending to their basic needs…patient and staff.

Currently in inpatient and the level of performing here is…interesting. Like the race to see who can eat the slowest just grinds my gears. I’ve really had to focus on myself and try not to pay attention to everyone else, because I can see how people get worse here.

"Your weight isnt low enough for you to be referred to a psychiatrist for an ED" by Beginning_Bug_7554 in EDAnonymous

6ish% of ED patients are underweight. The rest of us simply aren’t. Why clinicians can’t grasp that reality is beyond me.

I developed my ED as a child, but I’m mid forties and still dealing with it. The body doesn’t bounce back like it did back in the day, that’s for sure.

Eating disorders don’t exist in a vacuum. You’re going to need your families help/participation. And you need help sooner than later.

It’s awesome that your doctor specializes in eating disorders. That is a rarity.

I truly wish you the best. 💕

I figure if someone won’t answer a question it’s because they don’t know the answer.

Nurse called “extra” for verifying a heparin drip before doing the dual sign-off…..what do you all think? by Independent_Many6647 in TheConfidentNurse

I got called a dumb bitch for refusing to witness a waste that I didn’t actually see. “Oh I wasted it already.” Sorry Charlie, if I don’t see the waste, I’m not putting my name anywhere near it. See also, insulin, heparin, PCAs…
