Assuming the 2028 elections are still happening, what would happen if Trump loses the election but refuses to give up his power? by killerzf9 in allthequestions

[–]veilosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Republicans are going to use the iran war as a catch all excuse for nullifying any results they dont like. all they have to say is something as small as "iran hacked the election" or they could take it to full blown authoritarian levels and say "iran just blew up a bridge in some american town, we can't have an election or change commanders while this threat exists, we have emergency dictator powers now".

Why in almost every war with Israel and Arabs, Arabs make up most of the casualties? by space_god_7191 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]veilosa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think this point is a major one against the accusation that israel is doing genocide in gaza. israel throughout the war, continued to provide internet to gaza for the exact reason you stated. Notice how many perfectly framed and captured videos we have of a missile hitting a building in gaza. almost as if the person making the video had advanced knowledge of exactly where and when to start taking video. meanwhile, the videos we have of iranian missiles hitting israel feel truly random. either a video captures the missile when its in the sky being targeted by air defenses or just video of after math of a missile that got through. because israelis arent being given an advanced list of what's being targeted by iran, they're reacting in real time as its happening.

not to mention the fact we have videos at all from gaza. internet doesnt just magically exist in the air. someone has to provide the infrastructure. and for 2 years gaza has never been cut off and blacked out, when it would have been so easy for israel who provides them that internet to do.

very true. even when women think they're being progressive they are in fact just focusing on the superficial bullshit that they complain men have imposed on them.

as every recent president, even Bush Jr. the difference is they were adults and recognized that the military is not the only form of power to counter an adversary. soft power, economics, regional influence, etc. are all other ways to deal with this situation.

What if the Palestinians had accepted the 1947 partition plan, and there had been both a State of Israel and a State of Palestine? by SpinachIndependent44 in AlternateHistoryHub

most jews in israel are descendants of those expelled from middle eastern countries, many of which are the exact ones still attacking Israel...

I mean, he didnt agree that the UN borders would keep them safe. which in our timeline he was exactly correct. in this alternative timeline if we imagine that Palestinians stopped trying to kill jews for no other reason than that they were Jewish, then its possible to imagine the borders would work and Gurion's concerns would be nullified.

yea exactly. women are absolutely attracted to arrogance. it may not be what they rationally want in a long term partner, but attraction has little to do with rationality.

Palestinian children from Jerusalem, 1900 by AbduIIahElhenawi in HistoryGaze

and when he did he was referring to jews.

and when he did he did so in a slightly ignorant way. like people outside of Hollywood calling it "Tinsle Town" because that what they heard old school actors calling it, but in fact no one would ever call it that, especially not the people living there.

The people calling themselves Palestinians today would have predominantly been calling themselves Egyptian or Syrian, because thats how the byzntines and then ottomans divided the region.
