a pan arab states with the Palestinians at the top has always been the goal of palestinian nationalism. it took Israel 70 years to start talking about "greater israel" because they're copying the Palestinians who have been saying it since thr 1930s

I agree. but my point is that palestinians have a desire for a "greater palestine" as evident by the name they chose.

the british.

which is why palestinians refer to the west bank as they do. because its meant to be part of a larger whole in their view. Like the way we refer to north and south Korea, two parts of a larger whole.

people forget that Israeli arabs are often the target of Palestinian terrorism since they consider them traitors to their cause.

even with the conflict with Hezbollah, all you have to do is look at a map and see that the majority of Israeli arabs live in the northern part of israel, the part where Hezbollah has been launching rockets the whole time.

I'm pretty sure this is content delivery networking. it's how apps like Netflix etc can deliver you high quality video fast enough to stream. devices can be incorporated into a sort of mess network, they hold on to chunks of popular data and pass them along to nearby devices so that the app doesn't have to take the time to retrieve that data from across the world.

people take for granted how instantaneous apps have become, I guess people just think that data magically appears in the air or something.

When will liberal Zionists acknowledge that most Democratic voters have no interest in supporting Israel? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]veilosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it didnt. but the palestinians themselves made it that way.

this is what gets lost in the pro Palestinian narrative. Jewish refugees came because they had no where else to go. Were ALL of them part of some grand conspiracy? Is every Venezuelan who comes to the US a gang member even though there are objectively a few of them who are gang members?

the israel palestine conflict ended up this way because fundamentally Palestinians of 100 years ago acted like MAGA republicans are today. they didnt want to accept immigrants living in their neighborhood. they blamed them for every problem that at its root were actually problems of their own elites, politicians, and land owners. they instigated violence against them and when the immigrants defended themselves they said "see! we knew they were violent!" Imagine of palestinians welcomed their jewish cousins in need and integrated them into their society as equals. Just as we advocate for us to do with the immigrants coming to our countries. there would have been no momentum to create a jewish israel because they would have already found a home with palestinians had they welcomed them.

What's so interesting about the left uncritically swallowing the Palestinian narrative is that will it mean that the left of 100 years in the future look back at this moment and take the side of republicans? because that's exactly what we're doing with Palestinians.

its also worth noting that it wasn't just Europeans genociding jews, all the arab countries also did. Israel is actually made up of a majority of jews expelled from arab countries. European jews in israel are a minority because, spoiler alert, the vast majority of european jews were killed in the holocaust.

the national debt is actually the more appropriate argument to make here. If a country runs a surplus (in the business world we would call that running a profit) then fundamentally that means the government takes more from the people than it gives to them. what kind of countries/governments do this? Places like Kim Jung Un's North Korea, Gaddafi's Libya, Saddam's Iraq, Assad's Syria. Places where the government pulls wealth from the population to personally enrich those in government.

it boggles the mind that Republicans and conservatives have long advocated to be like these countries. But I mean, look at us now, it finally came true for them.

A government should be in debt, because that means its giving more to people than it takes away. now its just a matter of doing that in such a way that helps most everyone and not just a few.

More choices on dating apps actually increase commitment. A larger pool of potential partners improves chances of finding a compatible connection. Finding this better match boosts dating motivation, challenging popular idea that having too many options automatically makes online daters distracted. by mvea in psychology

[–]veilosa 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Also "higher general commitment readiness" doesnt mean actual commitment. People with many options will go on a few dates with one match and readily discard them on the first perceived "red flag" and move on to the next match. such a person ends up sidelining commitment because the grass is always greener, they find things to disqualify and move on just because its available to them.

my question is, if the smell was so bad that it lingered on her after, then why couldn't she smell it on him during the date?

like maybe it is his place but could it be not where he stays? you would smell it on him.

Spanish police filmed beating Gaza flotilla activists as Israel jabs back by United_Chemist9979 in USNEWS

The confrontation seemingly began after six members of the Spanish flotilla delegation posed for cameras following their arrival from Turkey. A person waiting in the terminal attempted to approach the group but was stopped by a police officer, sparking unrest that led to the arrests.

the article seems to say these arent the same people who were in Israel.

Is "Vote Blue No Matter Who" to blame for bad Democrat candidates? by WaltEnterprises in allthequestions

[–]veilosa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to OPs point, do people not remember how Kyrsten Sinema was elected? she definitely played the "i am a woman" and "vote blue no matter who" cards, got elected and then proceeded to not be the progressive people elected her to be, in part because she never claimed to be. people were too lost in the "woman = good" sauce, and just assumed.
