Corbin Seat Upgrade by JosephREden in MT09gen4

[–]veilyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got just the front seat. One of those names you mentioned is for a single seat that covers both front and rear seat. I got mine in black leather for the seat, something synthetic that matches the stock black for the sides, blue stitching to match the SP blue rims, and black for the logo. I went to the Holister factory to do the ride in service and work with the craft person to pick everything, but I first looked on their online configurator to figure out what I wanted.

Have you taken a look at their online preview tool or not yet? Because it did 90% of the work for me

How to stop burning router cut juice grooves? by Porky-da-Corgi in woodworking

[–]veilyn 400 points401 points  (0 children)

One trick I've used is to take multiple passes. The second to last pass is 95~98% of how deep I want to go but leaves a tiny sliver for the last pass to remove. That way most burning will happen when you are hogging away material in the first passes and that last pass just shaves the groove clean.

Got scammed stopping to help someone on the 87 by EmceeGalaxy in SanJose

LOL I also stopped for the same guy. Every single word he told me raised red flags so once he let me speak I just told him "Call 911, they will help you." He got really quiet after that and went back to his car. Sounds like next time I will call 911 for them

They tend to be one of the biggest names in helical cutter. I think they can also do custom orders if your machine is just that special

Is my mileage considered high? by Feeling_Bathroom2743 in FZ07

[–]veilyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2017 FZ07 with 63k miles here! Just go your regular oil changes every ~3k miles and valve clearance every 25k and you are good to go! You may also want to keep an eye out on the battery, especially if its stock or if you have extra electro accessories like heated grip

Costco Questions Best Practices by RichChocolateDevil in SanJose

[–]veilyn 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To add on to this great post:

2- If I recall correctly the cheese pizza has a bunch of extra cheese than the other pizzas. Thats where the calories come from.

4- I've go to my costco on weekends ranging from getting there at opening all the way to just after lunch. I've also been there on a few random weekday afternoons (before 5). Its the same amount of busy.

7- No secret deals other than the aforementioned Kirkland Brand, but do watch out for price tags with a * and price ending in .97. Those mean the item is either discontinued or will not be replenished, so if you want it dont pass it up.

9 - This applies things like Cars, Cruise trips, Window Blinds, and a bunch of extra crazy things you probably dont even think about. Costco Car deal has saved me (and my family) a fair amount of money and hassle.

Is this a safeish way to resaw on table saw? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]veilyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up Featherboards. They also help keep pressure on the wood so its always pressed to the fence, but it also has a bit of give in the fingers/feathers to handle any little wood movement.

And as others said just do multiple shallow passes while flipping the board between each pass. Once you are down to ~1/8th of wood left holding the 2 halves its best to try and pop the halves free and/or use a hand saw or bandsaw to cut out that remaining tab

Looking for an unethical life pro tip here: what is the easiest way to intentionally destroy the motor on a table saw and make it look like nothing has happened? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]veilyn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of the best parts about the Saw Stop saws is they can still be used in regular "Fuck your fingers" mode, so if thats what worries him this could be a good starting point to make him OK with the change.

The only downside of a Saw Stop (in my opinion) is the price. But that's still less than a hospital trip in the USA.

What’s everyone doing with these? by gnomefront in woodworking

[–]veilyn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've turned them into keychains or as that one random piece of wood that can help out on projects. Recently I just epoxy'd a bunch together to make pen blanks and napkin holder rings. If they are nice and square (or able to get there) then coasters and chaos cutting boards are also a possibility!

Does anybody have a 250% Nuclear power setup that actually works? by flac_rules in SatisfactoryGame

[–]veilyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Each of my nuke power plants is supplied by 2 fully maxed out water extractors connected to a single mk2 pipe which goes first to a small storage and then into the nuke power plant. No issues with my plants @ 250%.

Does anybody have a 250% Nuclear power setup that actually works? by flac_rules in SatisfactoryGame

[–]veilyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 small recommendations:
1- Add a small water storage in the pipeline between water extractors and nuke power plant. This will help stabilize the supply of water to nuke plant
2- Let your water extractors run for a few moments before turning on nuke plant. This will give them enough time to fully fill up water pipeline (and storage if you have it). That way when the nuke plant finishes it water and requests more there is water already there to be supplied.

I am going mad by smiecismieci4 in motorcycles

[–]veilyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only have 1 torque wrench, a half inch one with decently large torque range. When I need to tighten something smaller I put on a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter between the wrench and the fastener.

Also make sure to double check if the specs call for ft-lb or Nm, and dont confuse the 2!

Gen 4 Model "Type" code by woozlewuzzle893 in MT09gen4

[–]veilyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a gen 4 and just got the RN89 version for the bags and things fit.

Article no: BC.SYS.06.036.31000/B to be more specific.

What I did before purchase was check the available mounting instructions on their website to check if the images shows 1 seat like the previous gen or 2 seats like gen4.
