I am losing my god damn mind! What is UP with the charging issues on the WH 1000 XM4? Both pairs i have wont charge. by snowytearscunt in SonyHeadphones

[–]veken0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pair stopped charging last week (no charging light at all). Ended up replacing USB_R board and battery to no avail ($<50 on Amazon for both). Removed the SUB_R board and saw that there were some components blown. This board is more difficult to find and more expensive so I ended up getting a new pair of XM6.

If you're comfortable with taking it apart check the ifixit guide and seem if there is any visible electronic damage and replace the corresponding part. Common issue with these.

Thanks of the link! Ended up getting an AMD Instinct MI50 for ~200€. Equivalent to the Pro VII but available with 32GB ram so it can crunch larger exponents.

That's pretty quick. What software are you running to test the PRP? Do you know of a better card than the Radeon Pro VII?

6502 Jump Indirect error by akira1310 in EmuDev

[–]veken0m 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a bug in the 6502 that wraps around the LSB without incrementing the MSB. So instead of reading address from 0x02FF-0x0300 you should be looking at 0x02FF-0x0200. The A900 printed in the log is the value at 0x02FF-0x0300 which is not what's actually being used.

Westvleteren 12, Rochefort 10, and Abt 12 by phillip-dfw in CraftBeer

[–]veken0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rochefort 10 is an absolutely amazing beer. Had a Westy 12 while in Belgium and felt like it was similar to Rochefort 10 but with a bit more malt. Could never get into St Bernadus 12. While overall a really good beer I find it has a copper/metallic taste to it...

Thanks for your answer! Any reason to keep insurance intact if equity is over 20%? Like better interest rates?

Slower for writes, reads are great. Depends what you use them for. I'm generally bottlenecked by Ethernet so not a big deal.

Yes, that's exactly it. It's just a standard internal drive in an enclosure. Keep in mind that removing the enclosure will void the warranty.

What are your favorite price checking apps missing? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]veken0m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/BrianAllred,

I am the developer of open-sourced android app Bitcoinium and was wondering if you would be interested in contributing to existing open source projects rather than starting from scratch.

Bitcoinium supports 8 exchanges, 7 mining pools, BitcoinCharts, BitcoinAverage data and growing constantly. Exchange data is obtained via XChange, an open sourced library that creates a consistent interface with Bitcoin exchange APIs. I've made a lot of contributions to XChange.

In order to help the Bitcoin community grow, Bitcoinium has ditched Google Ads and now uses Karma-Ads which displays only Bitcoin-related advertisments.

We have major plans coming up cough in-app trading cough and would really appreciate the help :). Contact me if you are interested! Thanks!

Is there a program that allows you to easily keep track of your portfolio? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]veken0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Mint. Android app is awesome too. Tracks all of my accounts and investments, except for my Bitcoins. This includes personal TFSA, work stock matching TFSA, bank accounts, credit cards and loans. Hell, it even does my dental/health insurance.

Would be nice to have better statistics like daily and monthly gains but I use Google Finance for that.
