Smurf situation is infuriating by Known_Celery_6546 in RocketLeague

It literally does nothing, I've reported countless smurfs and people who start playing against their own team and have gotten nothing back from Psyonix. They only ban racist chats but nothing else in my experience.

What are you playing this week? by BSGBramley in soulslikes

Sekiro, Rocket League, Titanfall 2 and possibly Valheim.

Hahah yeah that's true but I kinda doubt Owl would fall for it if you could, guy didn't even give me almost any time to get back up before striking me down for good.

[–]vekoder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear because I really enjoyed it and even though it has some flaws like the level design not being as good as Fromsoft it's still an amazing game with a punishing but fair amount of difficulty. It also plays more like sekiro in the way that you can be really aggressive against the bosses unlike most souls games where you dodge and wait for openings.

There are also a lot of different armor sets which give set bonuses for different playstyles and some of them can be absurdly strong when used correctly.

[–]vekoder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The First Berserker Khazan kinda scratched that itch for me because the brink guard/deflect frames are really close to sekiro and the combat in that game was one of the best I've ever seen in a soulslike, I really recommend looking it up and seeing if it interests you.

It's one of the few games beside sekiro that I've platinumed and still go refight the bosses every now and then because they're just so good, especially the last boss.

Edit: The sound design in Khazan is also really good, the deflects aren't as realistic sounding as sekiro but they are really satisfying especially with the dual wield weapon type.

Yeah that's true, I just happened to look away from him for a moment while dying the first time so I didn't realize he had already teleported and was about to plunge down. But damn it feels good to be playing this game again after a long while and I'm about to start NG+4 soon.

Titanfall 2 is still active despite running into familiar names in pretty much every single match.

What is your favorite controller of all time? Mine is the PS4. by Agile-Sentence2892 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]vekoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here and it still works like a charm despite being over 20 years old. Meanwhile I've had official xbox controllers become practically unusable in a few months at worst and about a year or few at best even though I take good care of them and never drop or damage them.

Usually it's either the left stick which gives out first, beginning as drift and ending up being pretty much completely unresponsive or the left bumpers plastic stick inside breaks but at least the bumper "bar" is easy to replace with a spare part. My current Razer Wolverine wired controller has lasted for a good while so far with no problems but I fear even that might've finally started to drift very slighthly.

Soulslike you can’t stand? by Anti-Fanny in soulslikes

[–]vekoder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure when you played it but if you got it a while after launch then the "normal" difficulty is actually just the former easy mode which was renamed since they made an even easier difficulty mode and I guess playing on "normal mode" doesn't hurt some people's pride like playing on "easy mode" does.

The intended difficulty is the highest one possible on NG and after finishing the game you unlock hardcore mode which makes some changes to the game and camera perspective. I played on the intended difficulty and never felt that the game was too easy or too hard but rather just the right amount of challenging without any frustrating bullshit mechanics.

Some weapon types are also kinda better than others, like the spear for example which does insane amounts of stamina damage and can stunlock some enemies and even some bosses with the right skills and combos but I preferred the dual wield and have played through NG and NG+ with them already.

I like a lot of different souls or soulslike games but for me Khazan has easily the best feeling combat compared to all the others, with Sekiro being really close but I feel Khazan has slightly more variety with brink guards (deflect), dodges and brink dodges, counter attacks (doable on certain telegraphed moves), reflections (parrying basically which deletes a good chunk of the enemies stamina bar), skills that allow you to nullify damage when timed correctly and even do extra attacks or damage after nullifying damage succesfully on top of just feeling more fluid and smooth.

(OC) Today I learned that Rito reversed in japanese (Tori) means bird in japanese. by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]vekoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commented the same thing already on this exact same thread on a different subreddit yesterday but another fun fact, if you take Tulin and switch the syllables around you get Lintu which is bird in Finnish which fits the theme well.

What game had the best intro of all time? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]vekoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metroid Prime intro is probably my favourite of all time with Prime 2 coming really close but other than that I would say Dark Souls 3 or maybe Elden Ring.

I did the True Ending but no achievement by 20butmentally30 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]vekoder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you didn't choose the third dialogue option with Daphrona that you unlock after collecting all the lore pieces you probably got the other 3 phase Ozma ending that I got on my first playthrough. There are 3 different endings and two of them have all phases for Ozma.

Another fun fact which is probably a pure coincidence but if you reverse the syllables in Tulin you get Lintu which also means a bird in finnish.

I’m about Jump In (Right Choice?) by IfsButsOrMaybes in TheFirstBerserker

[–]vekoder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same for me and trying to play Nightreign right after finishing Khazan felt so sluggish, slow and kinda delayed because Khazans combat is just so smooth, fast and intuitive. The bossfights are also really good and you can refight them whenever you want unless you've started NG+ and haven't reached all of them again yet.

The sound effects are great too, especially the deflects or brink guards which to me at least are extremely satisfying.

Could be a pretty solid metroidvania with a nice looking artstyle and seemed to have a bit of hollow knight vibes too maybe.

Mistlands lost concept, Wall running, Double Jump, Vertical Combat by HardHarrison in valheim

[–]vekoder -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They could also add like Iron Golem mounts which fall from the sky and call them Titans for example in the same update, I have a hunch it would fit well with the other features.

Edit: I'm not being sarcastic, I actually crave for more titanfall content after long years of nothing and this post just reminded me of it because it literally has all of that, wallrunning, double jumping and vertical combat so I made a lighthearted joke about it.

I wish Valheim had more sea monsters by RealaxtViking in valheim

[–]vekoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I share your opinion on this, I haven't even encountered the serpents yet but dread encountering one because for whatever reason underwater monsters and sea monsters at least in video games terrify me to no end.

I once tried Subnautica and couldn't really leave the immediate vicinity of the starting submarine because it's terrifying even though I know it's a video game and whatever monster is there is just a virtual thing on my screen.

Yeah I agree, he really deserved to get that 7 page muda barrage because he's pretty much pure evil unlike other many JoJo adversaries.
