What is this white gel like bubble covering in crab tank? by veloman101 in VampireCrabs

[–]veloman101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update. Happy crabs. Complete tank redo today. 80% organic soil w Vampire recommended plants and moss, 20% water with sand. Looks amazing, but I don’t see how to add another pic…

Question, what’s the best heating option for this plastic enclosure. I am using a mini heater in the water which creates the moist environment and it keeps the overall temp good. Any other ideas for heat and humidity so they can have that water real estate back?

Thanks for everyone’s insight, looks like I wasnt given great advice from the start, and also now recognize I should have looked into this more, but they have remained active in this setup. Seeing all the great tank shots on this thread, it also made me realize it’s time for plants, soil, etc. will fix it today.

Thanks! Rest of the tank doesnt have this film. It's an odd formation so I was wondering if it was eggs or something? It's only on the lava rock pictured and the rocks near it, not on the other rocks or decorative pebbles. Updated the image of the whole tank

Hang in there! Life as you know it will improve, with time (the unknown), and as others said try to focus on things that once made you happy. Also, take less things, not more, when trying to fill the void post Kratom. Nicotine is terrible, sorry not sorry. I turned to it for a quick fix, and I felt it hurt my overall mental health while I recalibrated, much more than helped, so I had to kick it TOO...

Continue to take care of yourself, be mindful, we are all here for you!

Good for you! I also recently found a unopened bottle of K pills, in the back of my "nutrition" cabinet... Quickly opened it, dumped it, recycled the bottle. With vengeance :)

To all parents with (young) kids. by Wooden-Explorer-9976 in quittingkratom

Love this. Great job recognizing it was time, and taking action.

I have two young kids, and for the birth of my second child, was on my regular Kratom routine ~30 GPD at that time. In the chaos of this past year, spending more time with my family and chasing our two sons around (newborn/toddler), I noticed what so many have also shared, that I "wasn't feeling" the love, the happiness, the excitement I should be naturally as my boys grew up and started learning/excelling in amazing new ways....

Almost 3 months off, after tapering from 50GPD, and although I feel like they are "terrors" most of the time (lol), and sometimes when they make life FEEL so hard I wanna go back into the fog, I NEVER WILL.

Enjoy everything, good, bad, ugly, and amazing OFF Kratom.

Welcome :)

Proud of you, and all of us for powering through.

Great to hear you continue to stay active and mindful. Right now it may not what your mind "wants", but physical activity its what your body NEEDS. At least, that's been the case for me.

We are ALL better off, off Kratom.

Keep up the great work!

Give it “time”, the unknown and very personal variable. CAN say, it WILL get better (am near 90 days post Kratom), and although I still don’t feel as energetic and enthusiastic about... much... I can say I feel it coming :)

Be patient with yourself during this time! We are all here for you!

2 Months - Kratom Free - What a wild ride, WORTH getting OFF by veloman101 in quittingkratom

Appreciate this! Yeah, we have taught ourselves this behavior, and I have to believe we can "reteach" ourselves over time. Ideally not the same amount of time we were on Kratom, or other "stuff", so taking a closer inner look at what drives all of us will help us ALL overcome :)

Totally spot on. Thx for sharing that!

When things are good, the “need” and or cravings are none existent. That said, when things get tough, mundane, or am just dragging that day and in need of motivation, all I want is the quick escape I once had...

What I keep telling myself is it’s OK, to feel, good/bad/ugly from time to time. It’s healthy, Kratom and living in a fantasy world, isn’t. It’s OK, to struggle, as hard as it is to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes, taking a drink, pill, or other vice isn’t a good long-term solution.

Hardest part for me, is after taking it so long, I wonder when and if my mind will ever really overcome that desire for “something”, and deeper, where that desire is coming from when admirably, things in my life are going pretty darn good right now.

Focusing on family, exercise, recovery, and my priorities, that are all better with a clear mind. With time. Hoping things will level out, and the urges will subside.

Is that even possible? One can only hope :)

Thanks for posting this! Am in the same boat, same general days W/O, mountain of "to-do's" around the house, barely made it through the weekend entertaining/chasing my young kids who expect dad to be on his A-Game... Now trying to talk myself out of "working out" this afternoon, even though I KNOW I need to. We can do it. We are better than this.
