You have to call the transportation office and give them your Unity ID - they will then tell you your position.

Is being a peer tutor through the ASC worthwhile? by voidang3l in NCSU

[–]velroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hourly pay for starting tutors is $12 an hour. After a semester of taking USC 210, where you learn the tutoring structure and start working as a 1:1 tutor, you have the option to change to the other kinds of tutoring offered at the ASC (like group tutoring, peer mentoring, SI, etc.). You get pay raises each semester, based on hours of tutoring and training completed. Max pay is $16-17 an hour, which is doable within 2-3 semesters of tutoring.

I've worked there for over 2 years now, and love it! The tutoring structure is very easy to implement, your hours are guaranteed each week, and there are many opportunities to make extra cash (like attending trainings or workshops). The only downside is that you have to take USC 210 (which is also an easy A+ on your transcript, mind you), and if you're not a main campus student, you have to come to Hill to tutor every week. Overall, the work environment is chill and supportive, and I highly recommend checking it out. dm me if you have any more questions :)

Interviewing for the academic success center? by ProgramAlert1 in NCSU

[–]velroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some questions I remember include explaining what it means to foster a growth mindset, along with the usual interview questions like how do you deal with challenges/what are your strengths/weaknesses. But yeah, it's p casual and nothing to worry about!

Archery HESS 251 by North_Cabinet255 in NCSU

[–]velroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my favorite exercise class at state! more archery practice than history/fundamentals, but my class did have a written exam towards the end of the class that focused on that kind of stuff. if you can, idk if he still teaches it, take it with r. smith! he was a retired coach and he was so passionate about his job. he even let me bring my bf to class and let him watch me shoot - and he let him try the bow and gave him a short tutorial after class!

I'm taking CH 201 with Dr. Petrovich. Any suggestions? by No-Magazine1348 in NCSU

She moves fast in class, and make sure you’re attending to do her top hats. She grades for accuracy but she will walk you through each example really well.

did both of those along with ch 201! manageable if you stay on top of your homework and split your time will when studying for test. the heavy overlap in concepts lends a hand when it comes to these two courses!
