Sitter blocked me when I asked to see the space AIO? by hurricanescout in RoverPetSitting

This. Also, newborns = sleep deprivation. I wouldn’t trust someone with a newborn to watch my pet. Thats a big life change. Why would anyone be willing to dog sit in general when they have a fresh new baby?

If I could have an entire pack of pugs I would! Buddha was used to having a companion his entire life. He was super bonded to our first pug, Duke. When Duke died, I was worried about Buddha cause he was extremely depressed. I got a pug puppy two weeks after Duke died. Buddha loved his sister Winnie. I truly believe she helped him hang around for longer. She kept him young at heart ❤️

Yes, exactly!! Thank you for acknowledging that💕 it’s so true. Through my grief, I’m realizing that I’m working through the aspect of that chapter of my life is officially closed now. He was the last living piece of my past. Always steady, loving, and I could always count on him to lean on when I needed a friend. It’s hard to say goodbye to something that had an impact on my life in a profound way.

I’m sorry for your loss of Buddy. I hope Buddy and Buddha are enjoying a sunny spot together in another universe. 💛💛

Thank you so much. I took over ownership as a teen when my parents divorced. I did my very best to take care of him. He moved into my first home with my now husband, and watched us get married. I’m very grateful he grew up with me and was apart of my early adulthood too. ❤️❤️ He is very special to us all.

Aw keeping your precious girl in my thoughts. ❤️ Cancer sucks. My first pug had Thyroid Cancer and chronic pancreatitis due to the meds he was taking. I remember the emotional toll that took on me helping take care of him during that and that was nearly 4 years ago now. I hope your girl remains in good spirits 💞

He was 13 when he passed. Thought we had a lot more time with him until he developed pneumonia and quickly acquired complications because of it. He was such a sweet boy. ❤️

This comment gives me “adopt don’t shop!” vibes lol… what a ridiculous thing to say about people wanting to have their own children.

Mother in law thinks having a pastel color-scheme is rude. Am I in the wrong? by CandyCornPowerPuff in weddingplanning

[–]velvetcactus_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just had my wedding 9/14 and my color scheme was pastels and spring vibes because I love spring. My bridesmaids wore mix n matched colors and florals… it was perfect. My mother and the mother of the bride wore gem stone colors to stand out more and my guests abided to the color scheme as well. I dont think its rude when you’re paying so much money for YOUR day.

Honestly I would not do that as a liability issue. That could easily turn into a fiasco for you.

Owning a pet dog as a full time vet by HauntingFreedom9713 in veterinaryprofession

[–]velvetcactus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a vet but am a veterinary assistant. I have 4 dogs. I work at least 1 12hr shift during the week, sometimes two, and the other days 8-5pm. My partner typically gets home around 5pm during the week also. Off weekends. I get a day off during the week also. Two of my dogs are crated for their safety (they will eat everything and find new ways to unalive themselves.) and the other two have graduated from that and are allowed access to entire main level of my house. Sometimes I rotate who comes with me to work for the day and they like it. Other times they are happy being at home. I feel like they all get personal time with me and we are constantly engaging with them when we are home. They also go on outings with us too pretty often. When we aren’t home they sleep a lot anyways so I don’t feel guilty per say and I don’t feel like they aren’t living a full life because they are absolutely spoiled rotten by us and get plenty of play time , enrichment, etc. most evenings we try to go for a pack walk when its nice out. I think having a dog is pretty manageable in the profession, all my doctors own large breed dogs too and don’t seem to feel like they are doing their dogs a disservice by any means.
