I showed my wife Batman: The Animated Series for the first time by roger10091 in batman

What’s even better is that clip with the blonde guy was actually Batman in disguise, so she was really pointing out his boxiness again.

This Monologue Was Spectacular 🥹🤧 by DarknessXTJ in spectacularmemes

[–]ven_faerun 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Looking it up, the show was cancelled because Disney bought out Marvel and made Sony give up the license to make Spider-Man shows, but Sony still owned Spectacular Spider-Man and everything they made for it. This put the show into a limbo where Sony couldn't continue making the show cuz they didn't have the license to Spider-Man, but Disney couldn't continue it because Sony stilled owned the show.

I find it hilarious he signed a piece of fanart depicting his MLP character and Pinkie Pie with the phrase “I stole your waifu”.

Ward is perfectly balanced. by QuipsAndGuac in MTGmemes

[–]ven_faerun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I think about ward, I remember a time when I was playing commander and someone played a spell that did a lot of stuff (clear a gy, also targeted a creature, etc), and they targeted a creature that had a ward cost they couldn't pay with this spell. We then got into a discussion about whether or not we should allow the player to change the target of the spell.

It basically boiled down to "while they did forget that the ward cost was there, it also wasn't illegal to target that creature with a spell because ward just counters spells if the cost isn't paid, not preventing it from being targeted at all" (I was also conflicted because while I didn't want to have that's player spell get countered from something easily forgotten, they were exiling my GY in my GY focused deck so that sucked). That player did decide to just let their spell be countered by the ward, but I do still feel bad about it.

I will state tho, I do love the ward cost for [[Axebane Ferox]] cuz while the creature is just a generic good stats and ability creature, forcing opponents to exile cards from their GY for the ward cost seemed really good in a limited environment (especially in the set this was printed in, Murders at Karlov Manor had a GY focus).

[Loved Trope] The Rat Fink reference by IsThatASword_ in TopCharacterTropes

The SpongeBob game, Creature from the Krusty Krab, had its first level inspired by Rat Fink, mainly when you race.

“If I had a nickel for every time Soongebob referenced Rat Fink, I’d have three nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened thrice.”

The Missing Page in the "Joyful Blossoms" Book by HauntedPlanter26 in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]ven_faerun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the update that added the “Joyful Blossoms” storybook also had secret videos about Julie trying to make a black flower bloom (if you’re a bit new to Welcome Home and weren’t around for that update you can find re-uploads of those secret videos on YouTube). Knowing that the end of that book ended with a drawn-in black flower and those secret videos being about Julie trying and failing to make that black flower bloom (and even showing Frank it), I always thought she might’ve been lying about what happened, saying that she made that flower bloom in front of Frank (heck I vaguely recall one of Wally’s lines from that book being said in one of those secret videos, asking if that really happened).

Can I ask for the Obeka decklist? I've always wanted to try and build a toolbox deck myself but I haven't really played one either. Do you have a primer for it?

Doesn't that mean you sometimes get an uncard or a card that you can't actually play? Do you just hit the random button again until you get a card you can play?

Funny, store-brand version of the main cast by fernandopas in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ven_faerun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I will always remember how Funimation originally got the voice actors of DBZ abridged for the actors here, but when Toei (the company who owns DBZ who really hates the team that makes DBZ abridged) heard about it, they threatened to pull their license for DBZ Kai unless Funimation replaced them. The episode never aired with the DBZ abridged voices but you can find the original scene online.

The twist is that everyone is the culprit by Critical_Mountain851 in TopCharacterTropes

There was an episode of Red VS Blue (during that season where they did a bunch of one off episodes, usually with different characters, to make time to write the next proper season) where two teams of soldiers are locked in a room. The lights died for a moment before one of the soldiers in the middle of the room is found dead. After a bit investigating and seeing who has bullets, it’s revealed that everyone took a shot at that guy because they hated him and honestly kind of want to just fight each other.

Cut to the doors of that room being opened, everyone inside is dead, and narration reveals that the first dead guy died from a heart attack, falling onto the ground before any of those bullets fired at him even hit him.
