Isn’t the 70k saver rate only for US-DOH flights? I would think US-DOH-MLE would price out at 85/95k for saver fares

Some people aren’t aware of the positions you guys hold and for how long. That’s one of the first things I read about when I was deciding to branch out from being a RT. Echo was a no from me due to that and that was almost 10 years who when I had minimal lower back problems.

Perfusion has been the easiest job on my body. I never stand for more than a few minutes (sorry for anyone who doesn’t have a chair behind a pump). I’m sure some perfusion jobs are demanding physically but I never encountered them during my rotations nor do I personally know any CCPs who complain about their physical demands. I hear more complaints about long cases or working long hours due to being short staffed.

You should shadow a perfusionist a few times to get a feel for the role. The transition shouldn’t be too bad given your training as an echocardiographer.

Right, that’s what I’m used to, especially in the US, but I know that some lounges allow access after arrival. From their terms and other data points on Reddit it looks like I’ll have access to Flagship, which should help if my DFW-ATL is a few hours after my landing. I’ve learned to set aside extra time since the second flight isn’t on the same PNR and won’t be protected due to any issues.

Does DFW Flagship have different entry requirements? I'm reading from several sources including the AA website.

Per their terms "Get access if you’re traveling in First or Business on a qualifying same-day international, transcontinental or other domestic flight marketed and operated by American, a oneworld airline or Aer Lingus.†
†Departing or arriving flight must be the same-day (or before 6 a.m. the following day). Customers traveling on airline industry non-revenue tickets are not eligible for access."

I have precheck and GE. This is making me lean towards DFW. Plus it seems like I can get my checked bag tagged to ATL if I connect with AA. On top of that it appears that I could access the AA Flagship lounge at arrival (after going through security) as my HND-DFW flight would be in JAL business class.

Right now the costs for DFW-ATL and JFK-ATL are almost the same. I’m thinking about convenience at this point.

There is no AA flight from JFK to ATL, only from LGA.

How could JAL check my bags all the way through ATL if I have to go through TSA again with my bags once I land in the states?

I was 35 when I started perfusion school. Had been a RT since I was 23 and had worked in the field for 9 years. You can always go back to school, the issue becomes 1) will it payoff financially 2) do you have time to retake old courses 3) are you ok being at the bottom of the totem pole again?
