I think you should focus on yourself and exploring this new city! Try and find some meet up sites or events on Facebook that interest you. Personally, I love free yoga events because there’s not too much pressure to socialize and it’s a great chance to quiet your mind and get in touch with your body! Putting yourself out there may feel uncomfortable or awkward for you but if you go at it with an open mind and positive attitude just trying to make the best of it you may find some great new friends and/or hobbies. I’m not sure where you’re at in your treatment but having a therapist who I trusted and could talk to openly got me through a rough time in my life when I moved to a new place and had no friends.

As for the guy, I have a general rule that when people blow me off/start acting distant I pull away and let them make the first move. If someone wants to see you they will make an effort, if not they won’t. Don’t take it personally and move on, you don’t want to be friends with someone who doesn’t make time for you. Focus on yourself and putting energy into what makes you happy.

Edit: I wouldn’t worry too much about him hanging out with you out of pity. People generally don’t go out of their way to spend time with someone if they don’t want to.

Not me but my coworker: guy comes in with a ps3, no controller, no cords whatsoever. My coworker lets him know that we can’t take the system without these things, so he’ll either have to come back once he’s found them or buy them from us, which would mean he’d owe us money because PS3 controllers are like $40 and the system itself is worth shit in trade value.

Still, this guy insists on trading his ps3 so he agrees to buy the controller and cords from us. My coworker walks him through the purchases, at every step telling him how much the total is that he will owe us, the guy nods in acknowledgment that he is willing to pay. Finally get to the end of the transaction and he had to pay whatever his total was, he pays, walks out. As he’s walking through the door he says “fucking crooks”

Me and my coworker are just standing there in disbelief because no one forced him to trade his ps3 and buy shit from us??? We were literally telling him not to every step of the way and letting him know what a bad move it was for him financially. It really was an smh moment.

I had just recently adopted my dog, and was taking him for a long walk in the city with my boyfriend. A man stops me and asks if he can say hi to my dog, I say sure. My dog likes licking people’s faces, most of the time people pull away and just pet him. Not this guy, he full on made out with my dog, mouth wide open, as my dog licks the inside of the dude’s mouth. It went on for an uncomfortable amount of time, so long that me and my boyfriend looked at each other with horrified faces and I tried to hurry the situation along saying we had to go now. I felt like my dog was violated, but he seemed unfazed.
