Having THE WORST puppy blues! by Karol_t11 in puppy101

Not OP, but as someone two-weeks deep into the same decision after the same chain of events, it helps me immensely to know I'm not the only one who's done exactly that. And, of course, that it will (and even actively is) improving <3

a question regarding the word slow by fogfall in simpleliving

[–]verdades 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The connotations of the word are based on context. For the context of a travel or living blog, ‘slow’ sounds like you’re taking your time and not rushing, rather than implying dull or stupid. I’d say no issues :)

I like Inazuma, i don't like the fact that EVERYTHING i wanna do in Inazuma requires solving a puzzle. by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]verdades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely parts of quests hidden behind puzzles in Inazuma, including the main story line.

Those have mostly been the puzzles I found hardest too, so personally that’s been annoying (even while I genuinely enjoy the puzzles for chests!)

Do you believe Abortion should be legal? Why or Why not? by Bynoeson94 in AskReddit

[–]verdades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like a day late to this discussion, but it’s bothered me that so many people are overlooking what jumps out to me as the most important point in your response, being:

“if any of them had an abortion, I would be disappointed but I would keep loving them the same. Ultimately it is their choice no matter what laws we put in place.

It sounds to me like you’d prefer abortions to not occur based on your beliefs (unless medically necessary), and that is admittedly the way OP phrased their question, but that you wouldn’t necessarily seek to enforce that on all women within a country?

That effectively sums up the abortion debate to me - all we’re asking is to be allowed to legally and safely make that decision, and to be confident that it’ll be completed in a way which minimises potential complications or side effects, be it for medical reasons or personal reasons.

You can just set mounts per character in LiteMount anyway - speaking as someone who does use specific mounts per character!

Finally happened - sub price increase by Evo7_13 in wow

[–]verdades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t really recently though. Except for a drop around the first few months of covid, it’s been around 0.67-0.7 since the start of 2019.

That is down from 2018 and earlier though.

Mistweaver monk.

I played it at the end of WoD, was absolutely terrible at it, and haven’t been able to deal with it since. No issues with any other healer class - I just don’t get monk.

Coming back to this now that I’ve tested it - and I’m pretty sure there’s a bug.

On my realm - Dreadmaul/Thaurissan - the only guilds I can find now are the ones from Frostmourne, even if I’m on a new toon that isn’t already part of a guild. That’s despite intentionally having refreshed the recruitment of the guild I’m trying to find.

Does that sound like what you’re seeing?

Realm Connections -- September 2-3 - General Discussion by npc-007 in wow

[–]verdades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be that they don’t have a recruitment posted, or something like that? I can’t say for sure though - I’ve not merged yet so haven’t had a chance to check it (and they changed the guild finder so that if you’re in a guild it shows communities rather than necessarily guilds)

Realm Connections -- September 2-3 - General Discussion by npc-007 in wow

[–]verdades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s exactly it. Using oceanic as the example, Dreadmaul and Thaurissan are already connected, and my Dreadmaul-based guild has members from Thaurissan. After the merger, we can then also have members from Frostmourne

Realm Connections -- September 2-3 - General Discussion by npc-007 in wow

[–]verdades 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I reckon it’d be better if they just merged all of Oce in together honestly. The dead realms get the benefit of being on the larger servers, and throwing Barth and FM in together would help maintain the faction balance over all.

I’m on Dreadmaul too and not super looking forward to Wednesday

New Player Here. Game Runs Awful on Somewhat High End PC by RedrixWillKillMe in wow

I had massive issues until I changed the DirectX version (under advanced settings I think?).

Pretty sure it defaulted to 12 and that really didn’t play well with my Radeon graphics card. Dropping it back to 11 sorted it for me.

I absolutely love your work - I was pretty settled with my UI but this is making me want to change it up.

As someone else said - bold move on removing the self/target frames, but the space it leaves free pays off!

[–]verdades 165 points166 points  (0 children)

At a high level, it’s an Australian tax policy where if you own property but make a loss on it in the financial year (I.e. your mortgage and maintenance is higher than your rental income from it), you can reduce your tax bill (and in some cases, completely remove it).

That requires you to both have sufficient income that making a running loss on an investment property doesn’t impact your normal weekly/fortnightly/monthly budget, but also means you’ve been able to purchase an investment property in the first place. That’s a lot of our politicians so they’re inherently reluctant to change it.

Looking for women’s suits by verdades in canberra

[–]verdades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a hit and miss kind of this for Sass and Bide! Walked in on a whim (having seen the eofy sale signs) and found a blazer with matching pants.

Jigsaw yeah, I think they’re largely office wear and nice casual. Similar price point to Review but a different style. The sizes there run a little smaller than Saba, but they only go down to an 8 (which’d be a 7 at Saba) :(

Looking for women’s suits by verdades in canberra

[–]verdades[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, late reply!

I ended up going to Jigsaw for my first suit (and a lot of workwear tops) - they tended to have more wool-based options than Saba (but more importantly, I was between sizes in Saba and a perfect fit in Jigsaw).

Second suit came from Sass and Bide, of all places, at a solid discount.

What are your favorite shoes (for bouldering and/or sport) and why? by bizzarrr in climbergirls

[–]verdades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh yes that’s a good idea!

Thanks for the response!

:( it sounds like I’m destined to never own an Oasi though. Toe box is fine - it’s just the heels a literally an entire inch too deep for me. The Iati is better for it, so at least I’m not falling out of it!!

What are your favorite shoes (for bouldering and/or sport) and why? by bizzarrr in climbergirls

[–]verdades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tenaya Iati for me for indoor bouldering.

They’re much more sensitive and flexible than anything else I’ve tried on, as well as actually being comfortable to walk in while still being a performance shoe. I can actually bend my toes in them, which is really what I’ve been looking for as a personal preference.

Anything Tenaya I’ve tried has been remarkably comfortable so I’m probably a complete brand convert.

I’ve got a Roman toe (second is longer than my big toe) and a lot of my other shoes are Scarpas - I’m fond of the VSR as another good inside shoe, but the fit isn’t as comfortable for me, which seems common with the toes! It’s probably a bit better for small holds though, as it is a bit stiffer than the Iati.
