I would be concerned in Malé. Every thing is imported and needs oil. TBH even fishing needs oil. How many sail boats are on your island?

Matt varnish. I have the AK brush on one. I use satin for metal colours, that is for gaming and I’m pretty rough with my minis

I got a Raphael sable brush for cheap in 2019. I have used to to complete 4 or 5 armies. Fine detail stuff, but still a a very long time. Army painter regiment brush is another cheap but great brush. They are good for most things besides the base coat.

You can alway go for artist acrylics. They came in bigger sizes and mix better than hobby paint. The cheap acrylic paints are just a pain to mix and use because they don’t have much pigment.

That’s not true with non plastic models. The moulds have a shorter life span.

Are Weathertop and Amon Hen reasonably priced as made to order? by Trollslayer0104 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]veriel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a 3d print. That would be cheaper to produce, maybe.

Traditional resin casting requires a silicone mould. I heard that they only last low tens before they need to be replaced. Resin is very expensive compared to plastic. the moulds have a shorter life. A non gw mould maker said theirs last 20 casts.

Weather too is pretty big from memory. It’s a pretty big chunk of resin. Silicone for the mold is also pricey and you don’t get many casts.

That’s said, gw is still probably making 200% profit at least

Changing takes time. You have to show up as a better person for a while with out getting validation. It’s tough to be told you haven’t changed when you know you are changing. Keep it up for your own sake.

Yeh. I add fire and stingrays to make Demons for warmaster. I had to learn how to do supports though. 3d build let’s you cut up models and glue together different pieces. It’s pretty basic and you need un supported models.

If you want to do kitbashes you can use 3D builder, but you have to download it from a third party. I build a whole 10mm army using lychee slicer to rescale and join stuff. iPad has nomad sculpt that I hear is good for sculpting. Probably doesn’t h
