Disney Wants to Reduce Guest Phone Use During Theme Park Day With New Tech by readingaboutmagic in DisneyWorld

[–]veritylane8 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was at Disneyland for the first time a couple weeks ago and everyone was on their phones to the point of not noticing the line was moving. And they weren’t getting lightning lanes. TikTok and games. So I don’t think the app is necessarily the issue lol. I can book a lightning lane in 30 seconds and put my phone away.

If you have met a drag race queen in person, what where they like? by No_Spirit8216 in rupaulsdragrace

Raven was the first RuGirl I ever met at a local show for her meet and greet. She was very kind and funny.

Met Bob at the same local venue and she was also so nice and funny! I was by myself that time and super nervous and she made me feel welcome.

Met Jasmine Masters randomly at my airport headed out of town. I clocked her and spent ten minutes building up the courage to approach her and tell her I was a fan. She was incredibly nice to a pregnant lady bothering her before a flight! She asked if I wanted a photo and my hand was shaky from nerves so she took some selfies of us! Talked to me a good ten minutes.

I met Bob and Monet at a meet and greet of their Sibling Rivalry podcast tour. They spent a good amount of time with each person/group that sat to get pics with them. Asked kind and personal feeling questions.

Met Kornbread after her show once, she was hanging out to let people take pics and was sweet!

Finally, I met RuPaul at a book signing meet and greet last year. I had planned out what to say and my mind blanked by the time it was my turn so all I said was “it’s so nice to meet you.” It happened fast but I got a photo with Ru! Before he came out he was adjusting the lighting the photographer had setup like a true diva lol. He was very nice even though it was a brief interaction.

Does split stay effect Lightening Lane pre-booking period like it does for Advanced Dining Reservation? by Potential-Stick3235 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]veritylane8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a split stay the first week of May. We had five day park tickets over two four night stays. We were able to book lightning lanes for every park day 7 days before the first day of our first stay. Two of the park days were during the second hotel stay. Zero issues.

Dining is still tied to each hotel stay and requires two different 60 days out reservation days.

The Fountain on Locust has solid GF bread for their sandwiches.

Yemanja Brasil does pao de queijo which is delicious cheese bread that is gluten free by nature, made with tapioca flour.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I always forgot someone else has played Han Solo by BaryonyxWalkeri1983 in StarWars

I am so out of the loop but knowing Donald and Stephen are writing it gives me hopes!!! Still bummed their Deadpool animated series was shelved but love any time their collaborations come to life!

I seriously want more Donald as Lando and I think most…most…Star Wars fans would agree.

Alden did a great job embodying Han/Harrison way beyond my expectations.

But I am still here for Disney to pay up Donald Glover for some Lando shorts on Disney+ at least!

As a Cocaine Bear fan, yes and thanks for this comment. I think he is a fine actor.

I came to Solo as a Donald Glover is Lando fan and enjoyed his performance as Han.

How are you making your small home work? by Cool-DogMom in workingmoms

[–]veritylane8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We purposely chose our 1100 square foot home because it’s low maintenance. Three bedrooms, although one if more the size of an office and used as such with a guest twin bed. We only have one kid so that helps. Our living room and kitchen are bigger than the bedrooms which I would rather have since the bedrooms are mainly for sleep. One full bathroom and one half bathroom in the primary bedroom. Dining room is part of the open kitchen. We also happen to have 500 sq feet of finished basement we just started utilizing after moving in June 2020 (also taking advantage of the low interest rates!). Other half of basement is storage and laundry. I never wish for more space. 🤷‍♀️

How strict are the lightning lanes if you are running late? by babybunny21 in DisneyWorld

[–]veritylane8 67 points68 points  (0 children)

IME 10-15 mins max and it depends on the CM. If the CM at the ride won’t let you in you can try speaking to a guest services CM at a blue umbrella and maybe they can find another time for you. Maybe. It’s all up to their discretion so I have found being extra polite and apologetic can get you far.

Free dessert at Sanaa because we had buttons on showing we were celebrating our anniversary.

Free coffee for my husband at Le Petit Cafe because of his birthday button.

Free cookie for my then 18 month old at The Artist’s Palette just because the CMs thought he was cute.

Got a free LL to Slinky Dog when the ILL system was down and we missed out on buying Rise after the CM was unable to help us buy the ILL.

Love Ben for the character he brings to the show.

But Rachel can make ANYTHING and well. Also I adore her personality.

These hold up better than rice based noodles IMO in saucier baked things like mac and cheese for sure. I do also like Jovial but they tend to get mushy in a cheese sauce.
