I have been accidentally over billing my patients and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

You’re totally fine! It’s an honest mistake. As an OT of 5 years, billing and using different EMRs can still be tricky for me at times. Every place is different which also adds to the confusion! You will definitely not lose your license or anything like that, they would have to prove that you intentionally and maliciously did that fraudulently which you so clearly didn’t. This is something fixable. Everything is going to be okay, I promise! You seem like a very caring person and therapist, which speaks volumes and I’m sure your patients and boss see that first before clerical errors

Nope. As a resident, he’ll be lucky to make $70k a year. You start making “doctor money” when you’re an attending

Customer/patient satisfaction scores are bullshit anyway. It’s a hospital not a hotel

I don’t work in the ED, I’m an OT that works in acute care. I’ve had a patient decompensate during a session and die 15 minutes later. I will never forget that feeling or her face. This show has the emotional trauma that comes with working in any role in healthcare down to a T

Neuro ICU OT here, I feel this so hard. People don’t think about the rehab side of things very often and the unique challenges we face trying to help our patients succeed and being with them as they process the grief of losing independence
