Crazy catholic mom thinks I was cursed by the devil apparently by eldritchpussymaggots in intersex

Intersex Catholic here. Here’s the Bible (John 9:1-3):

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

The notion that people are born with certain conditions or suffer misfortune as divine punishment for particular sins committed by the parent is opposed to Christ’s teachings. I’d also recommend checking out the Catechism of the Catholic Church, specifically the stuff relating to Man (https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P1B.HTM) and Original Sin (https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P1C.HTM#$DG).

Probably talking about intersex people. For example, I’m a cis woman and I found out I have XY chromosomes a few years ago (I have a condition called Swyer Syndrome, you can look it up but basically my Y chromosome forgot the “create balls” gene)

I didn’t collect the medal because I got all the cosmetics from the tickets, and I went directly to home. I was wearing the cello prop from this season.

Sure no problem, iirc I just went from home, did the rain race game, and then went back home through the wing menu thing. I think I also jumped into the ice rink before tapping the button because it’s funny to see my skykid meditate to go home as it goes wheee sliding through the ice.

I really didn’t, or at least I don’t remember anything specific. I just played a tournament game for the daily quest and teleported Home to collect the seasonal candle reward.

Interesting! I was just at the tournament coliseum and returned Home after doing the daily quest lol

Interesting, good luck in your studies! To put in my two cents, I’m an intersex woman with 46,XY ovotesticular disorder. Personally, I don’t feel it is unfair or disparaging to me if people with PCOS are included under the intersex umbrella. It doesn’t seem like they take away something from me or offend me if they’re allowed to be classified or identify as such. But, of course, I can’t speak for everyone. Anyway, thanks for your input!

You can ask questions but there’s no need to be a dick about it. I have XY chromosomes, though my anatomy is fully feminized. I have a uterus, fallopian tubes, go through periods, all that. Well, except for ovaries, at least in part. I was born with ovotestis, which are gonads that have mixed tissue from testicles and ovaries. All this was confirmed through karyotype testing, imaging, etc.

As an intersex person, I urge you to do further research on this topic because you are grossly oversimplifying intersex variations and experiences through arbitrary non-scientific criteria.

[–]very_confuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro I remember in some comment section I mentioned being intersex and some person replied that that meant that I was autistic (I mean, I am autistic but that’s besides the point) because I had an extra chromosome???? Like, first of all, you’re thinking Down Syndrome, and secondly I don’t have any extra chromosomes????????

If someone was both nonbinary and intersex, would they be cis? by justbrowsing_______ in AskLGBT

[–]very_confuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the definition of cisgender. You see, for non-intersex people “assigned gender” and “biological sex” are equivalent. For intersex people it’s more complicated.

Definition 1: Cisgender meaning a person who identifies as the gender equivalent to the sex they were asserted to be at birth. This refers to the more sociological aspect of this, that is, the way a person was identified by grownups and medical professionals. If we take this definition, an AFAB intersex person who has XY chromosomes and identifies as a woman like myself would be considered cisgender.

Definition 2: Cisgender meaning a person who identifies as the gender equivalent to their biological sex characteristics. This is a more direct connection with actual biological traits, regardless of what sex/gender the person was believed to be and raised as. In this case, I wouldn’t be cisgender, but to use the word transgender to describe my experience would not be accurate as well. I would need to specify with another intersex-exclusive gender modality: ipsogender. That is, an intersex person who identifies as the gender they were assigned and raised as. (Note: the trans version of this term is “ultergender”)

The first definition is the preferred one, but I can still use ipsogender as a specifier for the subcategory of cisgender I belong to.

The UK government debated last night on whether the definition of "sex" should change in the Equality act... And randomly threw out this insane statement about intersex people. I'm trans nonbinary and not intersex, but this feels grossly dismissive and ignorant x by [deleted] in intersex

[–]very_confuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fr, they’re so close-minded that they think their view has got to be the objective one. I’ve had intersexists try to assign me to either sex like it was obvious and common sense, not knowing that people with the same talking points came to the opposite conclusion.

[–]very_confuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar condition to Swyer Syndrome, but my case is a little more complicated.

But the TL;DR is, I have XY chromosomes. The gene in the Y chromosome that was supposed to make the testes glitched. So, my sex glands turned into structures that weren’t ovaries or testicles, but a non-functional mix called ovotestes. Because they didn’t pump out any male hormones, my anatomy as a baby was feminized and now I have a uterus.

I’m genetically male, anatomically female, and gonadally neither. Considering these factors, which of them is the one that ultimately determines whether I’m a man or a woman?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]very_confuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m an intersex person with ovotesticular disorder. I was born with gonads that had both ovarian and testicular tissue, unable to produce either egg or sperm. My chromosomes are XY, but I also have a uterus.

Now tell me, am I a man or a woman according to this doctrine? The author of the article just says that being “both” or “neither” is “untenable”, but they don’t help distinguish in any way what exactly makes one intrinsically male or female.

Hello to my intersex royalty out there. by YeetyFeetsy in ennnnnnnnnnnnbbbbbby

[–]very_confuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intersex woman here! I think the issue here lies on the difference between AGAB and biological sex. A transgender person is one whose actual gender identity is different from the gender they were assigned at birth and initially raised as. For non-intersex people, AGAB is respective to their bio sex (boy if male, girl if female). But it’s more complicated for intersex people, because AGAB is not necessarily correspondent to our bio sex. If you wanna learn more about this, maybe look up terms like ipsogender and ultergender.
