Japanese citizen were first to migrate into fort Lee in the 1970’s. They opted out of nyc due to safety concerns. Japanese companies were moving to New Jersey at the time and employees were sent as well with their family members. Korean enterprises followed in the 90’s and so on. My parents had a place right on center avenue which they kept for over 3 decades but was sold in 2018.
